Bentley teams up with Lalique to launch its first luxury fragrance range for men

Bentley has teamed up with master French crystal maker Lalique for the launching of its first luxury fragrance range for men. According to Director of Licensing at Bentley Motors, Lindsay Weaver, this partnership has made it possible for Bentley’s brand core traits to carry over to luxury fragrance. Silvio Denz, CEO of Lalique, said that the respective histories of Bentley and Lalique are similar.

They were both founded nearly a century ago. The two companies also value the same qualities: craftsmanship and tradition, luxury, lifestyle and innovation. Denz added that in collaborating to make a fragrance, they were able to “capture the essence of our skills and our vision in a bottle.”

With the aid of Bentley and Art & Fragrance, the owner of Lalique, they made the bespoke ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’, a remarkable crystal flacon with the iconic ‘Flying B’ Bentley mascot.

The fragrance is contained in luminous crystal that features dynamically styled wings that characterise eternal beauty. Mylène Alran, from the French perfume house Robertet, composed the eau de parfum. It’s described to be a fitting elixir of fine woody notes and fine leather. In addition, the scent is enhanced by orris butter to make a sensual and charismatic disposition. The ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ shows off its glassmaking prowess.

It is limited to only 999 units, which are offered at carefully chosen retailers from April 2013. Top French perfumer Nathalie Lorson, from the perfume house Firmenich, created the ‘Bentley for Men’ and the high-impact ‘Bentley for Men Intense’ fragrances. She has adeptly captured the quintessence of the luxury automotive brand Bentley into an excellent and distinctive fragrance experience. To accomplish this, only the best perfume raw ingredients were used. Of course, it will feature fine wood and leather notes, which are required for Bentley’s debut fragrance.
