Is a pre-owned 228i best BMW you can buy these days?

Looking for a fairly new BMW? Well, you can now own a used BMW 228i for 25,000 USD. Though basically considered as a small and modest coupe, the BMW 228i could bring big value for your money. Primarily because it has the perfect size that makes driving more fun. It probably is the best driver’s car around especially with the increasing number of big SUVs on the road.

Tipping the scales at 3,260 pounds, the BMW 228i is not only compact in size but is also relatively lighter. The dimensions are exactly what an everyday driver is looking for in a car because the 228i is neither too long nor too wide. One thing’s for sure, taking this coupe anywhere won’t be a problem since it’s much easier to get through a tight traffic if the car isn’t taking a lot of space to start with.

Most of all, the 2 Series is a relatively new model range, which means, driving one of these won’t definitely ruin your style. It will literally take your driving to a whole new level because it feels more agile than most BMWs. Never mind that it doesn’t come with the M badge like those on the faster BMW models. In fact, the 228i has better suspension than say, a BMW M235 or an M240 because it offers superior comfort and better handling. In most cases, things can get out of hand if the car is too powerful or runs too fast. But certainly not for the 228i since the four cylinder provides sturdy driving force that does not compromise other parts of the vehicle.

In addition, the 240hp turbocharged inline-4 offers remarkable fuel consumption on the highway. At 34mpg, this makes it the best car for day to day driving. Plus, the BMW 228i can go from a zero to 60mph in just 5 seconds which is great for a practical, all around daily commuter. As for the gearbox, the 228i is available with either an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. Either way, both transmissions are sure to provide a very engaging driving experience.

Sold already? If you are looking to buy a used BMW, we bet, this one’s the choice you surely won’t regret. There are plenty of used 228is currently on sale if you come and check out cars.com. Again, it may not be the fastest BMW but the driver involvement on a 228i definitely makes a huge difference.
