Earlier today, we revealed you the M4 DTM Champion Edition but this is not the only special model introduced by BMW. The German carmaker also announced the 1-Series DTM Sport Edition, a replacement for the M Sport Pack for the 1-Series that will be available from November 2014.

According to BMW, the 1-Series DTM Sport Edition arrives as standard with the M Sport Pack, xenon headlights with washers, 18-inch alloy wheels, sports seats and an M steering wheel wrapped in leather. In addition, the exclusive interior trim includes high-gloss black and matt Oxide Silver accents.

The vehicle can be ordered with diesel or petrol engines, but he have to admit that the 3.0-liter straight six-cylinder petrol engine is the perfect choice.

This engine delivers 320 hp (235 kW) and 540 Nm of torque on the M135i and is able to push it from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.1 seconds when using a six-speed manual transmission and in 4.9 seconds when using the seven-speed automatic transmission. Top speed is limited at 250 km/h or 155 mph.

The new BMW 1-Series features a unique drive-train layout -- a longitudinally front-mounted in-line engine and rear-wheel drive. This configuration enhances the handling of the new 1-Series, as conveyed through its design that boasts of BMW's typical proportions: long bonnet, swept-back passenger cabin and wide wheelbase.

Embodying responsiveness and groundbreaking elegance in a compact package, the new BMW 1-Series is provided with lively design and high-quality elements. Its front end is marked by massive BMW kidney-shaped radiator grille as surrounded by the BMW double-round headlights and three-section air intake. To highlight the sporty stance of the new 1-Series, the grille is tilted forwards while its surrounding areas create a three-dimensional effect when struck by light. The bonnet has four contour lines that form a V as they seemingly merge towards the grille.

Across the top section of the double-round headlights is an accent trim that – along with the optional bi-xenon headlights – gives the 1-Series a focused look, as reinforced by the direction indicators set into the inner light rings and an LED accent light. The side indicator lights are integrated in the exterior mirrors of the new 1-Series.

Meanwhile, the profile of the new BMW 1-Series reveals the car’s striking the proportions as defined by its angled rear windscreen, slightly sloping roof line, and flat side windows. The profile also reveals the so-called Hofmeister kink – essentially the low forward bend at the rear end of the side windows – continues into the C-pillar to allow the doors to open wider, making access into and out of the rear cabin a lot easier.

The distinctive lines and curved surfaces new BMW 1-Series conveys the distinct design quality of the car. One of these is the distinctive BMW swage line that commences from the front sidewall and rises as it flows to the rear lights. This swage line – integrating the door openers – helps emphasize the shoulder area of the new 1-Series.
