Bmw M7 might become a reality

Article by Christian A., on June 5, 2012

Bmw has an M branded vehicle in all the important segments, as we have the 1-Series M Coupe, the M3, M5, M6 and the X5 M and X6 M. But what about an M7? Well, things are about to change and CEO of Bmw North America, Mr. Ludwig Willisch, is confident that the M7 is coming. For those who don’t know, Willisch is the former head of the Bmw M brand, so he knows what he’s talking about.

He currently presses the corporate headquarters in Munich to add an M7 model. Asked if Bmw would build an M version of the X1 and X3, Ludwig Willisch said that these models will not be produced. Moreover, we have to forget about the Bmw M diesel models, the M 550d, the X5 and X6, as these will not be introduced in the United States because it is too expensive to homologate them.

BMW reveals that the new 7-Series will be able to strengthen its reputation as the innovative sedan under the luxury class. As the brand’s flagship model series, it delivers a combination of powertrain technology that is more refined than ever, a design that exudes sporting elegance, and comfort with a luxury feel. With the goal of cementing its leadership status, the new 7-Series has received a number of upgrades to boost its capabilities.

Aside from having the new LED headlights, the interior has been modified to make sure that soundproofing is optimized while ride comfort is enhanced. Included as well are drive systems that have been optimized, or if you prefer, new ones with one of them being the in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, one of the most powerful in the world.

Then there is the second-generation of the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 which brings with it new standards as it relates not only to performance but efficiency as well. That’s not all that BMW will be offering. It comes with optional equipment that complements the highly advanced safety systems to give that full in-car experience.

Looking at the front section, it is clear that the bonnet is wide and long, providing a profile that is animated and elegant. Further, the way the curved lines have been precisely drawn on the bonnet ensures that the new kidney grille, which has been extended forward, is able to catch attention immediately. Among the changes with regards to the grille are the chrome surround being made larger and that now utilize 9 slats compared to the 12 slats of the previous model.

These changes make the grille more pronounced. Headlights in full LED are offered as an option, a perfect match to the trademarked corona rings of the brand and the accent strip as it adds to the unique look of the 7-Series. The new range is not only about advanced technology as it is also able to meet the highest of worldwide standards for design. In the luxury sedan class, the 7-Series is well-known to be the symbol when it comes to superior driving experience and sporty elegance.

Indeed, BMW says that the 2012 7-Series will indeed confirm its athletic quality and stylish presence, given the new design features placed on both the front end and the rear section.

While the dimensions did change, albeit just a bit, the height being lowered by 8 mm made the sweeping lines have that additional expression while being able to highlight how well-balanced the dynamic proportions of this model are. The stylish presence mixed in with the different unique technology guaranteed that every trip in the new 7-Series is truly memorable.
