German automaker BMW has opened up its M Performance Parts catalogue to the new 3- and 5-series, offering components and improvement for the vehicles. Customers will have a chance to improve the chassis and brakes for the 2012 3-series and the 2011-12 5-series. Also offered are aerodynamic upgrades and exhaust improvements.

For starters, the company is offering for the 3-series a 20-inch forged-alloy wheel set, the unsprung weight of which is reduced by 2.4 pounds per wheel. According to BMW, this helps improve steering response and handling qualities of the vehicles in the series. The company is also offering a similar set for the 5-series. Both sets are finished with high gloss and low gloss touches and are bearing the BMW M logo.

BMW is also offering Brembo big brake kit with a choice of colored calipers. The brake kit includes four-piston fronts and two-piston rear calipers with improved thermal resistance from cross-drilled, vented rotors. Available colors include red, yellow and orange. BMW also offers exterior improvement packages for both the 3-series and 5-series. Both ranges could be endowed with high-gloss black kidney grilles and carbon-fiber mirror caps.

BMW offers M Performance sport stripes printed on PVC film in black or white for the 3-series and a carbon-fiber spoiler for the 5-series only. The inside of M Performance equipment, including a shift knob and trim set, also carry the carbon motif.

BMW also offers an M Performance Alcantara steering wheel with a flat bottom and a red stripe. Meanwhile, BMW is set to offer in June a stainless-steel exhaust system for the 335i and 535i sedans. The exhaust system features two chrome-plated exhaust tips with the BMW M logo.

The sixth-generation BMW 5-Series Sedan’s world debut signals the embodiment of driving pleasure and modern design in the world of mid-size sedans. The new 5-Series boasts an athletic and executive look, innovative safety and comfort features, and driving dynamics that are typical of a BMW. The new generation reflects the standards that are upheld by the company, which is considered to be the most successful premium car manufacturer in the world.

With its long and sleek hood, its short overhangs, its coupe-like roofline, and its wheelbase – which is considered to be the longest in the segment, the new 5-Series Sedan clearly stands out from the competition. Through balanced proportions, its overall aesthetic looks are achieved. At the front of the car, you can find distinctively BMW design features, such as a kidney grille that is slightly inclined forward in stylish and elegant side view. Its muscular rear end also carries emblematic features.

Meanwhile, the car’s interior is characterized by the harmonious blend of precise functionality, unmistakable style, fresh ambience, and clear orientation for the driver.

Highly advanced suspension and drivetrain technologies combine together to produce agile handling for drivers as well as exceptional riding comfort for passengers. When the new 5-Series Sedan is equipped with Sport Package, it includes Adaptive Drive, which constitutes Driving Dynamics Control, Active Roll Stabilization, and Electronic Damper Control. Moreover, Optional Integral Active Steering virtually extends or shortens the car’s wheelbase for a much improved agility at low speeds and an enhanced stability at higher speeds.

The new BMW 5-Series is going to be available with a V-8 engine and an inline-6 gasoline engine. Meanwhile, BMW’s top-of-the-range 550i comes with the carmaker’s "reverse-flow" V-8 engine that features twin turbochargers as well as High-Precision direct injection for 400-hp maximum output. On the other hand, the BMW 535i’s new inline-6 engine delivers a 300-hp and 300 lb-ft maximum output, as well as boasts of the VALVETRONIC throttle-less intake technology, a single twin-scroll turbocharger, and a High-Precision direct injection. Both 535i and 550i are going to be available with your choice of BMW's 8-speed automatic transmission, the new "Sport Automatic" 8-speed, and the 6-speed manual transmission.

Later, the 528i will come out with a 240-hp inline-6 engine with lightweight magnesium-aluminum construction as well as the VALVETRONIC throttle-less intake technology, which promotes efficiency and unparalleled responsiveness.
