Buick Envision expected to go on sale in the United States in third quarter of 2015

Article by Christian A., on October 8, 2014

The 2015 Buick Envision made its debut in September at the 2015 Chengdu Motor Show as a China-exclusive premium midsize SUV. Still, it wouldn’t be too long when we will see this vehicle in the United States. According to Edmunds, the Envision is expected to go on sale in the third quarter of 2015.

We also assume that the Envision will arrive in the United States powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates 256 hp (191 kW) and 353 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque.

This engine is bolted to a six-speed DSS intelligent transmission, which enables the Envision to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.4 seconds, while offering a fuel economy of 8.8 l/100 km or 26.7 US mpg.

As standard, Buick offers an AWD system for the Envision, but the United States will get also a front-wheel drive version. Buick’s new Envision is slightly larger than the Encore, but smaller than the Enclave.

According to the manufacturer, the Envision has a length of 4,667 mm, a width of 1,839 mm and a height of 1,696 mm, while the wheelbase measures 2,750 mm.

"We can't confirm anything, but clearly it is a very nicely designed and executed product that is very much a Buick," Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick-GMC sales, told Edmunds.
