Cadillac unveiled today the new Touring Package Sedan, Coupe and Wagon for the 2012 CTS models which offer some of the performance elements of its V-series product line on standard models. Starting at $2,065, the new CTS Touring Packages offer new features such as Recaro seats, microfiber suede inserts on the seats and steering wheel, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, a performance-tuned suspension, a V-series aerodynamic spoiler and performance wheel packages.

The 2012 Cadillac CTS Sedan and Sport Wagon are available with either a 3.0-liter or optional 3.6-liter engine, both Direct Injection V-6 units.

The Cadillac CTS Coupe comes as standard with the 3.6-liter V6. Each engine will have its own Touring Package available. For example, the 3.0L V-6 touring package option retails at $2,065 and offers 18-inch pearl nickel finish wheels; dual exhaust; dark finish grille; HID headlamps and fog lamps; V-Series aerodynamic center high mounted stop lamp (except Sport Wagon); suede seat inserts, steering wheel and shifter; midnight Sapele wood trim and metal pedals. The 3.6L V-6 Touring Package option is priced at $2,810 and features Recaro performance seating, suede-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, midnight Sapele wood trim and metal pedals.

Moreover, the 3.6L Touring Package also gets a dark finish grille, V-Series aerodynamic center high mounted stop lamp (except Sport Wagon) and the 19-inch polished wheels with either summer tire performance package or all season tire package. The 3.6-liter V6 engine delivers 318 and can push the CTS from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.3 seconds, and comes with optional all-wheel-drive and FE3 performance suspension designed for agile cornering and braking.

Furthermore, we find steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for the electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission included in the FE3 performance package. Other features for the 2012MY CTS are standard Bluetooth connectivity, optional RainSense Wipers and Side Blind Zone Alert (Coupe) along with new colors: Opulent Blue Metallic; Black Diamond Tri-Coat and Mocha Steel Metallic. For those who don’t know, the 2012 models start at $36,790 for the CTS Sedan, $39,590 for the CTS Coupe and $39,890 for the CTS Sport Wagon.

Cadillac unveiled its CTS-V Sport Wagon show vehicle, which foreshadows the new addition to the V-Series performance line. This new car combines the CTS-V Sport Sedan’s luxury and performance with the CTS Sport Wagon’s design.

Don Butler, Cadillac marketing vice president, says that the CTS-V Sport Wagon is an extension of Cadillac’s V-Series and its CTS lineups, delivering an uncompromising performance vehicle to consumers who want the wagon’s extra room. According to him, the V-Series Sport Wagon has become a new hallmark of all Cadillac vehicles.

The new Cadillac’s exterior has a Midnight Silver finish, which was first used on the Cadillac Sixteen Concept, then accented by rich Liquid Silver-finished wheels as well as the grille’s black chrome mesh insert. Moreover, the rear fascia, center high-mounted stop lamp, and upper spoiler are unique to the car.

As for the interior, the new show car has exclusive black leather trims with Alcantara accents. The instrument panel’s upper section as well as the upper door panels has the same premium leather covering and midnight Sapele wood accents. Microfiber material plus stitching is also applied to the pillars, the lower door panels, the console lid, the steering wheel center, and the headliner.

Furthermore, the show car boasts Recaro seats with fine-grain black leather trim and Alcantara seat inserts, which are divided at the center then accented with dark gray-colored stitching. Meanwhile, the seatbacks carry the laser-etched V-series logo. Additionally, the center stack, steering wheel, console, and door panels are accented with Obsidian Black.
