Chrysler decided that it’s time to introduce the 300 on the Chinese market but in order to receive some feedback regarding how customers will receive the car it introduced the 300 Ruyi Design Concept. First look at the car shows a Maximum Steel exterior color with dark chrome door handles, grille surround and lower grille tracer.
Moreover, we find premium Chrysler wing badges, dual exhaust tips in order to find an elegant yet sporty look. The exterior design is completed by a polished ruyi-inspired signature grille with dark chrome throats, bluish steel-grey tinted glass and a ruyi Chinese character badge on the deck lid and a ghosted speed stripe running along the side character lines.
Furthermore, 22-inch concept alloy wheels were added. These wheels feature a 10-spoke design with a curvature reminiscent of a ruyi scepter. The interior features black chrome on the outer dash vents, navigation screen and center dash vent surrounds, gauge rings, steering wheel rim and door handles. Moreover, we find a brushed patterned trim incorporated in the center console, upper door panels and flanking the dashboard.
The interior is highlighted by the custom seats with light-tone leather-wrapped seating surfaces with suede center inserts and side bolsters. Under the hood we find the “Engine of the Year” 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine bolted to an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
Designed from scratch, the new 2011 Chrysler 300 is the newest addition to the standard full-size vehicle class in the U.S. For three calendar years, this class has managed to get 4% of the market share. With the 300 series sedans, Chrysler hopes it will re-ignite the class as it brings with it a grand-touring performance, seat comfort that is the best in its segment, and elegant style.
In addition, it also offers quality and precision that is in the best E-class luxury sedans but at a price that is affordable. In order to make sure that the seat would be able to offer the best comfort, they were engineered by utilizing premium architecture. It even comes with the S-shaped spring suspension. Additionally, the front-seat backs offer a four-way lumbar system that can go up/down and forward/backward. By putting in the seat back, bolsters, and lower seat, and variable density foams, it improves comfort further.
Looking at the interior of the new 300 sedan, it is clear that it has world-class accommodations mixed in with that all-too familiar American style. It has the expressive style and the use of genuine materials is clear. Features to ensure the comfort of passengers are fitted inside as well with everything showing a precise finish and fit. Other changes done for the interior include the premium interior trim and the use of soft touch materials.
The Nappa leather seats are ventilated and heated with the steering wheel, instrument panels, center console, and doors, utilizing real wood appliqués. With the cask-skin instrument, there is no doubt the interior was designed to reveal a luxurious feel. This is true as well for the door panels with the dual gloss graining in three dimensions allowing a premium look as well as suppleness.
The use of bright chrome, which is contrasted with its satin chrome accents, allows this flagship sedan to have a milled aluminum look. Looking at the new instrument cluster, it has two large gauge faces with chrome ring accents and illuminated in Sapphire Blue. Further, the use of Sapphire Blue for the ambient lighting on the interior gives it that more modern and premium appearance.
