Citroen's DS3R, the racing version of the DS3, will be priced at around €28,300 when it starts selling on September 1 in Europe. This variant is powered by a 1.6-liter THP 150 engine that is able to deliver 200hp and 275 Nm of torque.

DS3 R, which has a limited run of only 1,000 units to be produced, features a reprogrammed ECU, new turbos and a new exhaust system.

The Citroen DS3 R also features a stiffer suspension, a 30 mm lowered ride height and upgraded brakes, as well as improved aerodynamics.

Carbonfiber is used on the exterior and is seen on the lower part of the front bumper, wheel arches and side guards. The hot hatch gets a special diffuser accommodating a chromed exhaust tip at the rear.

DS3 R is fitted with a bespoke livery. It has a body that is dressed in dark gray contrasting with the orange grille contour, wheels, door mirrors and roof. The roof also received a Grey-Orange racing flag theme. The car has bespoke decals on the sides and a distinct signature logo can be seen on the back.

The top of the dashboard, the center console, door armrests and the steering wheel all have a carbonfiber finish.

For a contrasting image, Citroen gave the car an orange finish for the dashboard, bottom faceplate of the sifter and its knob. Each vehicle gets a special number plate. New Alcantara-leather sport seats that feature orange stitching will accommodate the front passengers.

The new Citroen DS3 offers freedom of expression by allowing customers to extensively personalize their rides both on the exterior and in the interior.

With already a wide array of available colors for the body, Citroen is allowing customers to specify the distinctive 'floating' roof of the DS3 in any of these three colors -- Black, White, Blue and Red – as a contrasting detail. Citroen is also allowing customers to personalize the wing mirrors and rubbing strips in colors or smart chrome finish. Customers could also have the wheels and wheel centers in any of the available colors.

Meanwhile, the interior of the new Citroen DS3 can also be personalized according to the taste of customers. This can be seen on the dashboard strip – available in a choice of six finishes -- that encompasses the instrument cluster, air vents, multi-function screens and a scented air-fresher.

Furthermore, the new seats of new Citroen DS3 could be upholstered in a wide variety of colored fabrics and leather. In addition, the gear knob could be specified in five different trims, its satin-finish chrome combine with a wide choice of colors and leather. Moreover, the smart chrome touches in the cabin could be availed in a satin-textured finish. Interestingly, customers could have the disc on their key fob match the body color of their DS3.
