ŠKODA Rapid has been awarded 5 Stars for safety by Euro NCAP, following the results of its crash test. Euro NCAP acknowledged the vehicle’s excellent test results in the areas like: occupant protection for adults and children, pedestrian protection and safety assistance systems.
Frank Welsch, ŠKODA Board Member for Technical Development, remarked that the ŠKODA Rapid is one of the safest cars in its segment, as confirmed by the Euro NCAP results, which is an independent party.
Welsch quipped that the ŠKODA Rapid is an ideal family car that offers ample space for five occupants and their baggage. Welsch described the compact hatch as functional, having high quality and conforming to top-level safety standards.
ŠKODA Rapid is a good combination of expressive design, excellent price-value ratio and efficient engines. The vehicle sets new standards in the A-segment by being roomy, elegant and affordable.
The vehicle also boasts of impressive fuel economy and all-inclusive safety equipment, as evidenced by award of 5 stars for its occupant protection for adults and children. The ŠKODA Rapid sits between the smaller ŠKODA Fabia and the larger ŠKODA Octavia in ŠKODA’s model line-up. Welsch remarked that technology should be used to increase safety and comfort for driver and passengers.

For Škoda, the Rapid will be the first model to have make use of the revised design of the brand. This particular design was first hinted at with two show cars, the “MissionL” and the “VisionD.” With the Rapid, this design now gets the change to be finally on the road. CEO Vahland continues by saying that Škoda has been a brand that has been close to customers and will always be. This attribute is also displayed in the new design language. The importance of the Rapid cannot be highlighted well enough.
According to Eckhard Scholz, who is the Board Member in charge of Technical Development, the brand has previously shown the future of its style with the MissionL and the VisionD. He adds that Škoda is now putting this design to series production. Scholz says that this is truly a big moment for the team while serving as an important milestone for Škoda.
