We already know that Ferrari is preparing a special model in order to celebrate its 60th anniversary in the United States and that the upcoming model is going to be an Aperta version of the F12berlinetta. Well, we were right again, just like we were right on the 458 Speciale Spider as we were the only website to announce the new model back in July.
The new Ferrari F60America will be officially introduced on October 12 and as expected, only 10 examples will be made and are already sold. According to Ferrari, the F60America is based on the F12berlinetta and uses the same 6.3-liter V12 engine that produces 740 hp and 690 Nm of torque.
Despite the fact that it is a convertible, the F60America is as fast as the F12berlinetta and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds. When it comes to design, the vehicle’s front end is dominated by the classic Ferrari single front grille with chrome finish and integrated air intakes for the brakes.
Moreover, the new vehicle arrives with a new front hood with integrated air intakes as well as new air intakes located behind the front wheels. At the rear, we observe the two roll-hoops wrapped in leather and backed by carbon-fiber-trimmed flying buttresses.
Ferrari says that its new supercar can be closed with a light fabric top which can be used at speeds of up to 120 km/h or 74 mph.
The rear end resembles the F12berlinetta’s design but it arrives with new taillights as well as with a stylish bumper.
The interior features an assymetrical design and the driver’s area shows a sporty red trim, while the passenger’s side is finished in black, inspired by the historic Ferrari racing cars.
Moreover, the interior arrives with a dash, tunnel and door panels on the driver’s side are swathed in composite materials. In addition, both seats feature an American flag motif located on the centre.
Regarding the exterior colour, the F60America gets the classic North American Racing Team livery and features special Ferrari 60th anniversary Pracing Horse badge on the wheelarches as well as on the tunnel located in the cabin. There are no details regarding the price, but the new vehicle is rumored to cost a hefty $2.5 million.
