Four color themes are available for the new Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista

It turns out that aside from the Rosso Corsa traditional finish (red), the Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista Special Edition is also available in three other color finishes. This means that prospective clients could purchase the Ferrari 488 Pista in Piloti Ferrari specifications in any of the four color themes.

As expected, the Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista was introduced into the world wrapped in Rosso Corsa, which is regarded as the red racing color of racing cars from Italy. But aside from the Rosso Corsa, the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari can also be finished in Argento Nurburgring, Nero Daytona, and Blu Tour De France. Each color theme is named after a significant sporting event or location.

Argento Nurburgring is essentially a silver theme that makes the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari looks sportily elegant. Nero Daytona, meanwhile, wraps the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari in black for a sleek, athletic appearance. On the other hand, Blu Tour De France, lends the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari with a solid façade.

The Ferrari 488 Pista in Piloti Ferrari specification is the creation from the carmaker’s exclusive Tailor Made program. This special edition was designed to recognize the FIA World Endurance Championship world titles exclusively won by client drivers racing Ferrari cars. Available only to customers taking part in the carmaker’s motor sports programs, the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari takes inspiration from the AF Corse’s no. 51 car that Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado drove on their way to capturing the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles.

The Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista was unveiled at the eve of the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans in June at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France.

Complementing the Argento Nurburgring, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Rosso Corsa color finishes are a number of exterior features that identify the cars as the Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari. These include a new livery with stripes in the colors of the Italian flag (il Tricolore) – green, white and red. Evoking the racing version of the 488 GTE, these colors stripes feature a laurel that celebrates the 2017 WEC title, the WEC logo, the word “PRO” that indicates the car’s racing class, as well as the Ferrari logo.

The tri-colored stripes start from the nose of the 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari and continue to flow rearward to the edge of the bonnet meeting the windshield. The stripes resume at the roof as interrupted by the rear window and continue at the spoiler. Tri-colored stripes are also found on the flanks, as complemented by the personal race number of the client.

Serving as the core of the Piloti Ferrari 488 Pista is a 720-cv version of the 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine that was named as best engine in the world at the 2018 International Engine of the Year Awards.
