FlexFuel technology introduced on all 2011 Bentley Continental models

The excitement is at an all-time high for the 2011 Continentals, which are expected to go on sale as early as June 2010.

It's true that the new Supersports Convertible is the new hallmark of the model range but Bentley made a few revisions to its Continental line for the 2011 model year. First, the 6.0-liter W-12 underhood is now a flexible-fuel engine.

All models (even the Superports) can run on ethanol blends up to E85. Running E85 doesn't do anything for the power and torque but carbon dioxide emissions are reportedly cut by as much as 70%. The Continental is available in six new colors: Citric, White Satin, Kingfisher, Magenta, Orange Flame, and St. James Red Pearl.

Buyers can now also choose a metallic dark gray fabric for its convertible tops. Bespoke color combinations are also available for a price.

It's interesting that Continental GTC and Flying Spur models now include a power opening and closing trunk as standard equipment.

Notably, two new option packs are available on 2011 Continentals. The Premium Pack is offered on the Flying Spur and opting for this adds wood picnic tables with vanity mirrors, an aluminum fuel filler cap, and chrome interior inlays at the top edge of the door panels.

All Continental models are available with the Convenience Pack, which adds adaptive cruise control, an iPod interface, front seat massage functions, telephone handsets, a rear-view camera, and a valet key.
