Ford launches new custom graphics program for the Transit Connect

Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

Ford Motor Co. has partnered with vinyl wrap company Original Wraps for a recently launched website that streamlines the design, pricing, and installation of vinyl wraps on Ford's Transit Connect.

Customers can now configure their Transit Connect graphics package online with several options. The Transit Connect has plenty of exterior surface area, which gives owners a billboard to advertise their businesses.

There are specialist shops that can make custom graphics but this website enables car owners to quickly configure a design from the site's predesigned shapes and graphics.

Users may also upload their own material, such as logos and graphics, to incorporate into the design. The website also provides a rough estimate of pricing.

While simple graphics will cost about $100, intricate designs can run up to $3500 for a full-vehicle wrap. The website also provides owners a full preview of how the final product will appear on a Transit Connect.

According to dealers, it serves as an advantage because it's just one more way to satisfy customers.

Bob Maxey, owner of Bob Maxey Ford in Detroit, said that wrapping a Transit Connect is "a great way to advertise" and it is a one-time cost, but he says that many people just don't know where to get it done. He said that it's a big deal that there's a Ford website where people can design their own custom wrap, and get it done too.
