Ford plans to deliver vehicles that are fuel-efficient, fun to drive and safe

Ford Motor Co. will be releasing the redesigned versions of the Fusion and Escape to the U.S. market later this year. These are the No. 2 and No. 3 top-selling models of Ford, falling behind the F-series pickup. Ford follows a simple philosophy when it comes to sales. CEO Alan Mulally has led the automaker to produce vehicles that are safe and enjoyable as well as have the most advanced technology and a high fuel economy.

Amid the recovery of Toyota and Honda, the market share of Ford has narrowed slightly. However, Mulally’s strategy is expected to prove that the moves to reinvent the company are worth the risks. The Fusion and Escape exemplify the idea that sophisticated features won’t only be available in luxury vehicles.

They will have features like active park assist, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot warnings. Ford experienced some difficulties with its MyFord Touch interactive infotainment system, which resulted to drops in quality surveys. However, Ford intends to continue with its technology push. On the other hand, the Lincoln luxury brand will attempt to differentiate itself from the Ford brand with its own series of technologies and styling.

New Fusion brings to life Ford’s next generation of more dramatic vehicles and is the first to offer a sedan with gas, hybrid, and plug-in versions - each one meant to deliver the best fuel efficiency and an attractive drive experience.

Presenting a smooth form and fresh look, the new Fusion is the most recent in a series of Ford cars that follow the 2011 Fiesta subcompact and the 2012 Focus small cars. They were designed to appeal to customers from all over who are looking for leading fuel economy, functional technologies, and innovative looks.

Ford’s vision for the Fusion was very clear cut. It was to deliver the ultimate definition of the One Ford concept. Ford brought its world-wide teams together to start from scratch with the challenge to design a midsized car with revolutionary design and amazing fuel efficiency – a car that featured modernisations that could assist Ford customers become more improved and safer drivers. This Fusion is the answer.

Debuting in North America, the Ford Fusion will be offered in S, SE, and top of the line Titanium series and will point to the next Mondeo for global markets.

Triple-crown fuel economy

Ford Fusion is anticipated to provide top-class fuel efficiency regardless if a customer chooses gas, hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid, fulfilling Ford’s commitment to be a leader in fuel efficiency leader with each new model it brings to market.

The vehicle offers the widest choice among midsized cars of powertrains with high fuel efficiency. There are hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, two EcoBoost four cylinders, a normal aspirated four cylinder, an automatic start-stop function to shut the engine off when idling, front-wheel and all-wheel drive options, and automatic or manual six-speed transmissions.
