Ford Transit SportVan receives the Metallic Limited Edition

The Ford Transit team has launched 180 special edition Transit SportVan models in metallic silver and graphite, as part of Ford of Britain's centenary. Marketing Director Anthony Ireson of Ford of Britain commented that the demand for the Transit SportVan has been "exceptional," thus, the offering of the latest edition.

He added that the Transit becomes as famous as ever with at least 40,000 sales so far this 2011. Moreover, Ireson stated that the SportVan provides customers the opportunity to own "a really special Transit." The Transit SportVan is based on the popular 260, short wheelbase model with front wheel drive, with a six-speed transmission and 140PS 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine.

Its exterior boasts of Moondust Silver paintwork, twin exhausts, Le Mans-style graphite bonnet stripes, 18in graphite color alloy wheels, front and rear lower spoilers, low profile 235/45 tires, side skirts and extended wheel arches. It has also the standard safety features such as the ESP, ABS, and driver and passenger airbags. Moreover, it comes with air conditioning, velour trim, Bluetooth, Sony radio/CD with DAB and remote steering-column-mounted controls, power windows, cruise control, leather steering wheel, powered and heated mirrors, leather gearshift knob, a perimeter alarm, and tinted glass.

It features power deadlocks, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a load area protection kit and front fog lights. Optional features include Satellite Navigation FX system with 5in color screen, leather seats, and a rear view camera with cab-mounted 7in LCD color display monitor. Dealer-fit accessories include LED daytime running lights and LED cargo lights in rear.

The Transit SportVan was first developed in 2007 for customers who want to make a bold statement with their commercial vehicle. All the previous models are sold out including Sea Grey with silver stripes (80), Performance Blue with white stripes (500), Frozen White with blue stripes (80), Panther Black with silver stripes (500), Colorado Red with white stripes (250) and Ink Blue with silver stripes (150).

For Ford of Britain's centenary, the Ford Transit team has released 180 special edition Transit SportVan models in a smart new livery – metallic silver and graphite.

Ford of Britain's marketing director, Anthony Ireson, said: "Demand for our Transit SportVan has been exceptional so we are delighted to now offer this latest edition. Transit remains as popular as ever with more than 40,000 sales so far this year and this SportVan gives customers the chance to own a really special Transit."
