Infiniti EMEA has appointed Hugues Fabre to lead its commercial operations for Western Europe, replacing Guillaume Pelletreau who is taking up a new post within the parent group. The appointment takes effect November 1. Fabre is currently Global Marketing Strategy Director at Infiniti in Hong Kong. Under his new role as General Manager for Western Europe for Infiniti EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), he will report to Infiniti EMEA Vice President Fintan Knight.
Fabre remarked that Infiniti’s new generation of premium models such as the Q50 and the Q30 “will soon stand out for their emotion and technology.” He quipped that with this, Infiniti has the “greatest opportunity yet to build the brand in Europe” and that is what they will be doing in the coming months. Fabre started his auto career as a business analyst with Ford in 1992, and has held various sales and marketing roles.
He has been with Infiniti’s parent group since 2004, was named Marketing Director of Nissan Iberia before joining Infiniti in Hong Kong. In his new role as general manager for Western Europe, Fabre will oversee the brand’s sales and marketing just as the carmaker is targeting its new Q50 onto Europe’s premium business car sector. He remarked that the Infiniti Q50 is “a great car” -- either diesel or Direct Response hybrid version, adding that its launch in Europe is “the best possible start I could have.”
Infiniti EMEA Vice President Fintan Knight said: “Thanks to the work put in by Guillaume and the rest of the team Infiniti has a springboard for the success of our new generation of Q models. Western Europe is the world’s toughest premium market but I am convinced that by being provocative and staying true to Infiniti’s ideals, the brand’s position within that market is poised to be transformed.”
