The Infiniti Centre has opened at the heart of England’s North West, the company’s fifth Centre in the UK. The Centre is strategically located in Stockport where it serves Greater Manchester and nearby counties, including towns like Altrincham, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Buxton, Knutsford and Worsley, which are all expected to be vital markets for the performance luxury brand from Japan.
Infiniti has started a growth phase and is intent on achieving its goal that by 2016, one in 10 luxury cars sold will be an Infiniti model. Richard Braithwaite, Centre Manager, said that the Centre is in a “fantastic location at the heart of a strong Infiniti demographic audience.”
In fact, its first car has been sold to a Lexus car owner. Infiniti Centre Stockport is located in Bailey Road in Portwood, with a distance of less than 100 metres from the M60 Stockport interchange, which has easy links to all motorways within the North West region (including M6, M56, M61, M62, and M67).
Its sat nav address is: SK1 2BT. Infiniti Centre Stockport occupies two acres and surpasses all the requirements of Infiniti’s worldwide standard for Infiniti Centre design and construction.
The Centre isn’t a typical car showroom. Infiniti had focused on making the light, space, natural materials and contemporary design provide a tranquil atmosphere. Infiniti assures the consumers of Infiniti’s aim to offer a level of customer care that exceeds everybody else’s.
Infiniti has revealed its latest plans to open as many as eight Infiniti Centres around the UK by the end of the year. It is working in association with Mana Premiere Automobile Ltd (MPA) which runs the centres in Leeds and Birmingham.
MPA is owned by Saleh Alhamad Al Mana in Qatar and will be run solely by Lisa Ford, Operations Director and Chief Operating Officer. Formerly of Mercedes-Benz, Lisa has over 10 years management experience as the former Market Area Retail Director and General Manager.
The opening of the centre in Stockport is a great boon for Infiniti and the UK market as it will see the launch of the new M35h. It is the cleanest and the quickest model in their new range and it comes as the first in a new generation of hybrid vehicles whose CO2 emissions are only 162g/km and possess a fuel efficiency of 40.4 mpg, all these from a four-door saloon which can go from 0-62mph in only 5.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 155 mph.
Available in two models, the Infiniti comes in the M37 and M30d versions, both of which offer a range of options including a V6 petrol or diesel engine which alongside the M35h form one of the few three-way engines available for a saloon vehicle throughout Europe.
Matching the G37 line-up of Infiniti’s saloon, coupe and convertibles, the new M range comes with the innovative coupe crossover FX which has long been Infiniti’s best seller. It also comes with the retractable hard top roof and the outstanding V8 FX50S, which just happens to be a personal favourite of F1's Sebastian Vettel.
In Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn’s announcement for the Infiniti Group this year, he said that by 2022, there will be at least 40 Infiniti Centres in the UK. Since the UK is a key market, its expansion will enable the Group to provide a new luxury compact car which is a great hybrid and will form as the foundation of its future all-electric cars. In time, the brand aims to take at least 10% of these car sectors by the end of 2016.
