Infiniti announced that for the 2015 model year, its well-known QX70 will not be available with the powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that generated 390 hp of max motive power. As a result, the 2015 Infiniti QX70 will be powered only by the 3.7-liter V6 engine and will arrive with a price tag of $45,850 for the RWD model, while the AWD version costs $47,300.
Destination and handling charges of $995 are not included. The reason that Infiniti decided to drop the V8 engine is quite simple, as almost all the models sold, were powered by the V6 engine. Moreover, the United States was the only market to sell the V8-powered Infiniti QX70.
The current V6 engine delivers up to 325 hp of output and is bolted to a 7-speed automatic transmission. If the V8 had a fuel economy of 14/20 mpg city/highway, the V6 engine offers 17/24 mpg city/highway for the RWD version and 16/22 mpg when equipped with the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Also available for the 2015MY Infiniti QX70 are four special equipment packages: Premium Package, Deluxe Touring Package, Technology Package and a new Sport Package, which offers unique dark finish exterior accents, 21-inch dark finish aluminum-alloy wheels, Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) and climate-controlled front sport seats.
Just last month, the 2015 Infiniti QX80 made its global debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, featuring a new exterior design and a more crafted interior. When the QX80 Deluxe Technology Package is availed, the new QX80 gains chrome-plated outside rear mirrors caps. On the rear end, the new QX80 features with a standard bumper protection. The exterior design of the new QX80 is completed by the two new wheel designs: machine-finished 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels as standard and 14-spoke 22-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels as options.
