Infiniti sets out to enter Australian market in 3rd quarter of 2012

Infiniti will enter the Australian market during the third quarter of 2012. It will mark its debut in the country with a retail and service network that consists of three centers found in major east coast cities (Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane).

Infiniti’s lineup that will be initially offered in Australia includes the FX crossover, G37 convertible, G37 coupe, and the M saloon. Dan Thompson CEO, Infiniti Cars Australia, said that in Infiniti’s plan to expand worldwide, Australia is a “mandatory next step.”

He said that the Australian market will soon get luxury vehicles that offer the unique combination of “inspired performance, attentive hospitality and unparalleled quality.” Kevin Snell will be handling Infiniti’s Australian operations.

He is in the process of building a team for the upcoming development. Snell said that Infiniti’s cars are a “clear alternative” to the traditional premium models. He boasted that Infiniti’s models will be underpinned by its promise of "Inspired Performance" and the outstanding service and attention at its Infiniti Centres.

Infiniti will be made stronger in Australia by Infiniti Financial Services, a financial sector. Composed of experts in automotive financing, this team will hold its operations in Victoria where its head office is located. Infiniti Financial Services is particularly focused on the premium segment and will provide ground-breaking products and services to individuals and companies alike, in traditional credit and leasing.

For its arrival in Australia, Infiniti started to bring together a team of professionals with a background on luxury consumer products and automobiles and who specialize in giving an excellent luxury brand experience.

Aside from General Manager Kevin Snell, the Infiniti Cars team of founding members in Australia will consist of Sales & Marketing Manager Andrew Millar (formerly part of Swatch Group); appointed National Retail Performance Manager Nick Parkington (formerly part of AWB Landmark organization), appointed Digital Marketing & CRM Manager Mark Grier (formerly part of BMW Group) and appointed Product & Sales Planning Manager Zac Loo (formerly part of Mercedes Benz Group).

Infiniti Cars Australia has started formal discussions with some outstanding automotive retailers who have the same passion for luxury cars and excellent customer service, to collaborate with the brand as initial retail partners in 2012.

Infiniti Luxury Car Brand Confirmed for Australia in 2012

Infiniti, the luxury automotive brand from Japan, today announced that it plans to begin sales of its range of sedans, coupes and cross-overs in Australia starting in 2012. Infiniti was the fastest-growing import luxury brand in the United States last year and is expanding rapidly across the globe. The Australian introduction follows the Western Europe and select South American and Asia Pacific markets.

Starting from the third quarter of 2012, Australian luxury car buyers will be able to purchase and service Infiniti automobiles at designated Infiniti Centres in each of the three major east coast capitals Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Initially, the Infiniti model range will comprise the highly distinctive Infiniti FX sport crossover, G37 sport convertible and coupe and the unique Infiniti M luxury performance sedan.

"As Infiniti emerges as a global luxury brand and expands its worldwide market coverage, the Australian market is an obvious next step," said Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President for the Infiniti brand. "In a little more than a year, the promise of luxury vehicles with a unique combination of inspired performance, attentive hospitality and unparalleled quality will become a reality for the Australian market. Kevin Snell has recently been appointed General Manager, Infiniti Cars Australia and has begun assembling a dedicated team to manage the introduction of the premium brand locally.

Snell, formerly a global Sales & Marketing executive with Saab Automobile and more recently, a Senior Product Planner at Nissan Australia, said his team was committed to delivering Infiniti customers with a new style of luxury experience underpinned by inspiring products which will challenge conventional notions of luxury.

In Australia, Infiniti will be strengthened by a financial division: Infiniti Financial Services. The finance team possesses broad experience in automotive financing and will operate from its head office in Victoria. Exclusively focused on the premium segment, Infiniti Financial Services will offer innovative products and services to companies and individuals, both in traditional credit and in leasing.

For its Australian arrival, Infiniti has begun assembling a team of professionals from luxury consumer goods and automotive backgrounds who are experts in delivering an outstanding luxury brand experience.
