Infiniti to expand its partnership with Red Bull Racing Formula One team

Article by Christian A., on October 20, 2011

Infiniti revealed at the Korean Grand Prix that for the 2012 season, its partnership with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team will be expanded. Just this past weekend in Japan, Red Bull Racing driver and Infiniti global ambassador, Sebastian Vettel, got his second world drivers championship.

Starting in 2012, the Red Bull Racing F1 cars will be prominently showing off Infiniti’s logos on the side of the chassis and cockpit top of the next generation car. In addition, the Infiniti name and logo will be expanded to new areas on the drivers’ overalls and team equipment.

Furthermore, the partnership’s global and market leverage will be raised through added marketing and media activities all through the year. At the Korean Grand Prix, Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President, Nissan Motor Company, said that in March when the announcement was announced, its lone goal was to increase global brand awareness for Infiniti but in only seven months, its results surpassed its most ambitious targets.

For this season, Infiniti became the most highly exposed automotive brand in Formula One. He added that on the second year, they will be moving into new aspects of technical and product collaboration.

The work streams have already been put in place to develop the partnership into a technical collaboration. Infiniti will continue to build on its personal deal with Sebastian Vettel, who has been involved in several of Infiniti’s projects such as the launch of the Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel version at the Frankfurt auto show last September.
