Infiniti to show off 3 key concept models at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Article by Christian A., on June 17, 2015

Three of Infiniti’s latest concept models will be put on display on June 26 to 29 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. In Sussex, visitors will see the display entitled: ‘Infiniti Shapes The Future’. You can find Infiniti’s Festival of Speed stand near the Supercar Paddock at ‘the world’s largest motoring garden party’.

Two of these award-winning concepts have not been viewed in the UK yet. The three of them will preview cars that will soon enter production. This event will mark the first time that these three concepts are in one display, offering us an exclusive view of the latest key models in the growing Infiniti range and a closer look at its new design direction.

EMEA VP Francois Goupil De Bouille said that Infiniti considers design at the heart of everything that it does. He also pointed out that what makes its concept models stand out are their “boldness and seductive appeal.” He added that the company won’t miss the opportunity to show its newest concepts to “such an influential audience.”

The Q60 Concept is a preview for an elegant new sporting 2+2 coupe. Meanwhile, the Q80 Inspiration is a super-luxury four-door fastback that will appear at Goodwood in a special display version of the concept, demonstrating what the brand’s design language is for the future.

Meanwhile, the QX30 Concept gives us an idea of what the production version will look when it rolls out next year from the Sunderland production plant. Intended for premium customers who value individuality, this concept is a bold new active crossover with the sleekness of a coupe.

This year at the Geneva Motor Show, it received plenty of praises. It is expected to be warmly welcomed too as it makes its UK debut at Goodwood. The QX30 active crossover is slated to have its launch right after the Q30 active compact (the brand’s first ever compact car) is introduced.

The compact car, which starts selling in Europe at the end of 2015, will also be produced at the Sunderland factory. Infiniti’s stand will also illustrate the racing dreams of the brand’s designers with the use of a scale model of the Infiniti GT Vision Gran Turismo, a ‘virtual’ racer that’s meant for the Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) game.

Visitors have more to do than just looking at the display. Prizes are given to those who get the fastest times as they drive up the Goodwood hill on one of the PlayStation pods available. For the real thing, Infiniti has an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car on the stand. Infiniti has been racking up record sales gains in the UK market so it’s bound to be an exciting year for the brand.
