Jaguar planning more special models

Article by Christian A., on September 12, 2012

As part of Jaguar’s expansion plans, it will release versions of its products that will be even more extreme and would offer the ultimate in luxury. Global brand director Adrian Hallmark confirmed this plan, adding that this change is inspirational and comes after the success of f £100,000-plus models like the XKR-S.

This model is the most powerful mass-produced Jaguar ever while the XJ Ultimate edition, comes with a very lavish cabin. Its other upgrades like the Speed Pack styling for the XF have also been successful, specifically in China and Russia. Hallmark added that it has become clear from its research that Jaguar’s brand name is strong enough to be a part of this type of business.

Jaguar said that it has proven that it could push the brand further up the market. Hallmark declined to provide more details but he emphasized that this is just the prerequisite to being able to expand into new markets such as the mooted small saloon and crossover. He said that customers would have to expand and protect the brand.

When Jaguar unleashed its Jaguar XJ flagship sedan, the British carmaker was able to solidify its reputation for creating vehicles with dramatic design and responsible performance. Now, a new version of the Jaguar XJ will be released to the urban jungle, and it focuses on advancing two more brand attributes -- innovation and luxury. This model is called the new Jaguar XJ Ultimate.

Derived from the long-wheelbase version of the XJ luxury sedan, the new XJ Ultimate centers its attention to the people in the rear cabin. The XJ’s limousine remit has been extended to allow this luxury sedan to become more luxurious for its passenger. Interestingly, the Jaguar XJ Ultimate features the appointments found in a private jet.

The rear cabin features two individually customized rear seats, each laden with ventilation, power adjustment, massage and lumbar functions. These seats are separated by a full-length, leather-trimmed center console, from which center – at a simple press of a button -- rises an aluminum table with piano-black and chrome detailing, thereby serving as working area. Rear passengers are treated to two third-gen Apple iPads with wireless keyboards that are placed in leather-trimmed docks located in the rear of the front seats.

Mounted between the two rear seats is a bespoke champagne chiller that cools the bottle to an ideal temperature. Once the chiller is opened, the champagne bottle is presented forward. Of course, two champagne flutes are housed in a cabinet located beneath the center table.
