Kevin Rose has been appointed to head the sales and marketing operations of Bentley, Volkswagen luxury brand. Rose, 55 years old, currently serves as the executive vice president for sales at FAW-VW in China. Rose’s appointment takes effect on June 1. He is the successor of Alasdair Stewart, who will be moving to VW's Skoda brand in the UK.

It was in 1978 that Rose joined the VW Group. Since then, he had served in varying senior management posts such as head of Audi and Skoda in the UK and head of sales for the VW brand in the U.S. Rose has been executive vice president at FAW-VW in China since July 2009. In 1998, Stewart was named as CEO of Bentley North America.

Since that time, he has held different executive positions at VW, including chief of marketing strategy for the group's luxury brands and Bugatti’s head of sales and marketing. In February 2010, Stewart was named as board member for sales and marketing at Bentley. The position as head of FAW-VW will go to Stephan Woellenstein, 48, who is presently the head of sales strategy and business development at VW headquarters in Wolfsburg.

Bentley’s new 4-liter twin turbocharged Continental GTC V8 convertible and GT V8 coupé achieve high power-to-emissions standards in the luxury sports car segment.

Bentley’s remarkable, new V8 engine generates up to 500 bhp at 6000 rpm as well as 660 Nm of peak torque, which is available across the whole rev range from 1700 - 5000 rpm, offering an exhilarating performance and an effortless delivery of power in Bentley tradition. A close-ratio 8-speed a/t or automatic transmission also translates into a sub-5 2nd acceleration time for the 0 to 60 mph sprint as well as the over 180 mph top speed.

Additionally, the V8 Continental models deliver very impressive CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency levels for the luxury performance segment. They are also capable of driving over 500 miles on one full tank of fuel. The full and official figures are going to be released in the early part of 2012.

The new V8 Continental fulfills the company’s environmental commitment to come up with a new powertrain that is able to deliver a 40% improvement in CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency levels.

Moreover, the new V8 engine boasts variable displacement with its sophisticated engine management system, which ensures a smooth and imperceptible transition to V4 under light throttle load. This high-technology V8 likewise showcases high pressure direct injection, thermal management, low friction bearings, innovative turbo charger packaging, and energy recuperation via charging system, all for greater efficiency.

The growl of the new 4-liter V8 engine is instantly recognizable, setting it apart from other Bentley stablemates.
