Lamborghini opens new dealership in Mumbai, its second in India

Automobili Lamborghini, an Italy-based super sports vehicle manufacturer, has officially opened its second dealership in India. It has also established the unit Lamborghini India. The new showroom in Mumbai was launched in a special ceremony by President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann at Automobili Lamborghini. In 2006, the automaker became the firs super vehicle brand to establish itself in the country with the introduction of Lamborghini New Delhi.

Winkelmann stated that Lamborghini identified the potential of the market in India "very early on.” He also said that their international brand is "highly recognized and respected" in the country and that the demand for their vehicles is increasing along with the expanding Indian economy.

He further commented that their vehicles "evoke emotion and passion: they are the objects of dreams." He highlighted that delivering on that expectation and image is the automaker's center of attention worldwide, including Mumbai. The dealership is located in Prabhadevi. It is owned and run by Auto Hangar, which is the partner of Lamborghini in Mumbai.

Auto Hangar is known for its expertise and heritage in terms of luxury vehicle retailing. Winkelmann further expressed that this is the "right time" to launch the second dealership, as India is a "dynamic country and economy, with successful entrepreneurs who understand our marque."

He also noted that the Auto Hangar is "committed" to the automaker's values, positioning and culture. Lamborghini Mumbai will host the two current model lineup of Lamborghini -- the V12 Aventador LP 700-4 and the V10 Gallardo.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 reached India at the end of 2011. It has an international order bank which extends well into 2013. It is considered as the new benchmark for super sports vehicles. On the other hand, Lamborghini Gallardo is the most successful Lamborghini unit of all times. Since its introduction in 2003, at least 12,000 Gallardo units have been delivered.

Lamborghini has long had the tradition of naming its new models from bulls and the new Aventador is no different. Its namesake belongs to a breed in the Spanish Corrida world known for its courage. This was the bull that was in the battle held at the Saragossa Arena on October 1993. In this same battle, the bull earned the title of “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera.”

Undoubtedly, the proportions exhibited by the new Lamborghini Aventador are truly impressive. Overall length is measured to be 4.78 meters (188.19 inches) with width coming in at 2.26 meters (88.98 inches), this measurement though includes the mirror on the exterior. Highlighting the imposing dimensions is the low height at 1.136 meters (44.72 inches).

Both doors are made entirely of carbon-fiber monocoque and as a Lamborghini, the doors open upward. This particular feature was first implemented in the now famous Countach. After that the brand used it for a number of its V12 models like the Diablo and even the Murciélago. Considering where the name comes from, it comes as no surprise that in designing the Aventador, the goal was to put focus on the fact that while aggressive power is indeed beautiful, impressive dynamics could also be elegant.

One look at the Aventador and there is no doubt that it is indeed a Lamborghini as it is wrapped in the unique design language and quality of the brand. These include the tight muscularity that is present in all of the details, precise surfaces, exact lines, and imposing proportions. The main reason for all of these is that the Centro Stile Lamborghini designers made sure that the design language implemented on the Aventador would give it that needed edge.

It can be said then that this model is an unconventional work of art given the extremely dynamic structure as seen from how sharply refined the front section is to the low roofline and all the way to the unique diffuser in the rear end. Each line that was placed on the Aventador was not there merely for visuals but also for a purpose. Meanwhile each form was shaped by the need for speed. Even with all of these, the overall appearance remains to be magnificent and impressive.
