Managing director Phil Popham said that this model’s previous version may have gained over a hundred international awards for its name but they have been finding ways to virtually improve the vehicle’s engineering and design in every aspect. Thus, the new design hints a change in comprehensive engineering and now provides an all-new Land Rover Discovery 4.
The main highlight to this new version is its newly developed and highly efficient LR-TDV6 3.0 twin turbo diesel engine which delivers a fuel economy improvement of nine percent in an EU combined cycle as less CO2 emissions by ten percent at the same stance as a 29% increasing power as compared to the existing 2.7-litre engine. Its torque, which is deemed to be the peak torque output of any 6-cylinder, production diesel, and passenger vehicle engine worldwide, increases by more than 36% to 600Nm.
Both the power and torque are accessible across the whole rev range so to provide immediate throttle response as well as effortless cruising ability. Its results consist of a 0-60mph time of 9.0 seconds, (0-100 km/h in 9.6 seconds) and 24 percent improvement all over the 2.7-litre.
Its engineers were also able to transform the on-road ride as well as the handling for this new version and improved as well the near-legendary and off-road capabilities of the previous version.
