Land Rover reveals the Freelander Black & White Edition

Article by Christian A., on December 14, 2012

Land Rover will offer the Black & White edition of the newly facelifted Freelander. Only 600 samples of this special edition version will be built. It is based on the entry-level S model. It is offered exclusively with a 2.2-litre, 148bhp turbodiesel engine, with eD4 two-wheel drive and TD4 all-wheel-drive configurations.

Meanwhile, an optional automatic gearbox is offered for the TD4 models. It will receive the following modifications: gloss-black front grille, side vents and door handles from the Dynamic model. It also gets a set of 17-inch wheels and privacy glass. The Freelander is offered in two colors: Santorini Black and Fuji White.

Its cabin uses an updated centre console and comes with black cloth upholstery. Land Rover offers bluetooth connectivity on top of the standard S trim specification, including DAB digital radio and air conditioning.

The Freelander Black & White edition is currently available now. An eD4 model is priced from £22,495. The price could go as high as £24,995 for a TD4 that features an automatic gearbox. UK dealerships will get the Mercedes CLA saloon, which will be offered with four-wheel drive, next summer.

Land Rover gave the Freelander 2 a quality renovation, bringing even more improved comfort, accessibility, and driving pleasure. New versions, colours, design exteriors, improved equipment features, and optimal selections of advanced and efficient diesel engines, all add up to create this even better SUV.

Interior features reach up to soar to new levels in the Land Rover Freelander 2, with a range of new and exhilarating offerings such as a new trio of colour ways as part of a 'Dynamic' version, completely new centre console, 7-inch colour touch display with improved Meridian audio systems, and an available satellite navigation option.

The key dock is replaced with a passive start, and a new intelligent electronic parking brake adjusts force based on the slope on which the vehicle is parked. A 'Say What You See' voice activated system with visual prompts and a rear-view camera functionality are both also new to the Freelander 2.

Exterior design touches were revamped to create a blended, co-ordinated look, including more modern front and rear lights that use the most recent LED technology and a new hallmark graphic in the front running lights. The XS model has new 17” alloy wheels and an augmented body style pack.
