Love it or hate it! Cornwall dealership Dales SEAT is offering a bright pink Mii Miinx that’s the complete opposite to the ‘black viper’ Mii Vibora Negra unveiled last July. Sales Manager Tom Rawlings wanted to do “something different” and the Miinx was created as a one-off show car. The dealership chose a Mii Sport in Deep Black metallic as the basis for the still-to-be-named car.
Pink gloss vinyl wrap was used to cover the Mii’s bodywork. Meanwhile, the lights get a more prominent, contrasting appearance from its tint using a translucent film. As soon as the wrap was applied, Dales showed a picture on Twitter where it asked for ideas for its name. It was referred to as ‘Miinky’ for a while but they settled on the Miinx sobriquet name eventually.
The Miinx is a standard three-door Mii Sport so its power is derived from a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine with 75 PS. It offers an impressive lineup of generous standard equipment, which includes a set of 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, leather steering wheel and gear knob, dark tinted rear windows, front fog lights, and sports suspension.
Mii Miinx may be compact but if offers a bold statement. Its price tag of RRP of £11,500 makes it cost-effective as well. Dales said that for every car sold, it will give £100 to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.
“One thing’s for sure – the Miinx is a car that always provokes a strong reaction, good or bad,” said Tom Rawlings. “We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to the special edition since we launched it. From the day we first parked it outside our showroom, people have made a point of coming in to tell us what they think. “The car’s also divided opinion on Twitter. I tweeted a photo and within minutes hundreds of people were commenting about it. But we couldn’t believe it when people from all over the place started calling the dealership to enquire about the car. We’ve obviously done something right,” he added.
Thanks to certain design cues, the new Mii is easily recognizable as part of the SEAT family. For instance, the front end of the new Mii still features the signature arrow look, with a profile defined by slender roof pillars and dynamic wheel arches. The rear end, meanwhile, features a new light design with its triangular lamp units. Thanks to its steep rear, the new Mii is able to provide the space needed by its users. This spaciousness is also thanks to the fact that the new SEAT Mii has a width of 1.64 meters and a long wheelbase of 2.42 meters. These numbers are helped by the fact that the Mii is provided with short front and rear overhangs.
Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, the new Head of SEAT Design, remarked that the new Mii features the spirit of Barcelona, its hometown. He quipped that while the new Mii has a modern and a strong personality, it isn't loud. He noted that while every detail of the car is precisely defined, it features not too many lines. Mesonero-Romanos added that the Mii allows a wide range of customers to acquire a car with a sporty and quality design.
On the other hand, the interior of the new SEAT Mii is defined by functionality and contemporary clarity. Its instruments and the control elements are ergonomically situated while its surfaces can be personalized with colored trim from a number of equipment lines. The carmaker has also provided the new Mii with new seats that come with integrated head restraints.
