LYNK & CO, through its Senior Vice President Alain Visser, gave a preview of what to expect from the brand with the preview of two new models during an exclusive event held in Shanghai. The company added that this will signal the official start of its launch to the Chinese market. After that, it will make the official premiere during the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show, scheduled to begin this April 19.
An estimated 800 guests were invited to be part of the preview where VP Visser confirmed as well that the company will be offering home delivery services and online sales. However, LYNK & CO also said that it will be offering a subscription model. Through this, the company hopes it will have the flexibility of ensuring that the owner and the user experience will be on the level as that of the expectation of a new generation of customers. These new customers are different in a sense that they generally utilize smartphone app service and are accustomed to the level of convenience it offers.
During the event, VP Visser shared that with just five months as a company, it has managed to come out with two models. This proves, according to him, that it is on the way of fulfilling its promise of releasing a wide array of vehicles that display high quality, show the brand’s unique identity, and that are fitted with unparalleled connectivity and technology as standard. He went on and said that to sweeten the deal, the company will be including a lifetime warranty for each model. In addition, connectivity will have free data traffic. With this, he continued, the company is highlighting its commitment to challenge the auto industry’s traditional business practice.
Visser said as well that the company is likely to offer what could well be the world’s most connected cars especially with the first ever in-car digital function. That’s not all, he adds, as the company will be offering an entirely new business model. This will include a simple product offer and an attractive purchase with fixed and transparent pricing, and having excellent ownership experience. All of this, Visser continued, will begin in China in 2017. The company will also be offering connected mobility where owners will have the option to share their car, he added. The crucial thing is, he said, was that everything the company does is about simplicity.
According to the company, it will be revealing a production ready version of its 01 at the opening of the Shanghai Auto Show. This will be done through a press conference led by none other than VP Visser. The company will also be presenting the 03 Concept with key design features to be explained by Geely Auto Group Executive Vice President Design Peter Horbury.
