Mazda has unveiled a special edition of the Mazda2 in celebration of the arrival of the spring season. The special version of the Mazda2, the company’s best-selling model in the United Kingdom, is dubbed the ‘Venture Edition’ and has an on-the-road selling price of only £12,995. The new Venture Edition, based on the five-door hatchback Tamura model, features a striking combination of advanced technology and a premium cabin ambience.
The Venture Edition features a number of new equipment including Sanyo TomTom navigation system that comes with a 5.8-inch touch screen, integrated Bluetooth hands-free kit, electric rear windows and climate control air-conditioning. On the outside, the Venture Edition dons 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, front fog lamps, sports styling kit, a rear bumper sports trim and privacy glass.
The company will just produce 1,500 Venture Editions, all of which are available in six special exterior finishes, including two unique for this model.
A customer may opt to choose from two unique finishes -- Dolphin Grey Mica and Burgundy Red Mica – or from four regular Mazda2 range colors – Crystal White Pearlescent, Brilliant Black, Aquatic Blue Mica and True Red.
The Mazda2 Venture Edition retains the same standard equipment installed in the Mazda Tamura including front, side and curtain airbags, remote central locking and dead locks, leather steering wheel with audio controls and driver’s seat height adjustment. Also installed as standard equipment are CD radio with auxiliary jack and four speakers, a Thatcham Category 1 alarm and 60/40 split folding rear seats.
Mazda2 Venture Edition is fitted with stiff bodyshell, softer mountings for the rear trailing arms and re-tuned rear dampers to allow superior road traction and ride comfort. Because of its lightweight construction, the Mazda2 Venture Edition offers amazing fuel economy with outstanding driving performance. Priced at around £1,000 above the Tamura donor-car, the Mazda2 Venture Edition is surely worth the buy.
