Mazdaspeed3 will return to the lineup in 2016, may receive AWD system

If you didn’t notice already, you should take a look at Mazda’s latest offering, the Mazda2, Mazda3, CX-5 and Mazda6. As you can see, the vehicles produced by the Japanese car manufacturer are getting better and better, while the new ‘Kodo’ design language continues to impress.

According to the latest reports, Mazda is not working on the next-generation Mazda3, which will arrive as a 2017 model year and will be launched with a new design in the second half of 2017.

What’s more interesting is that with the new model, the Mazdaspeed3 high-performance version will return to the lineup. Power will come from a 2.5-liter SkyActiv engine that will generate more than 300 hp.

Regarding the design, the new model will follow the same recipe: unique front fascia, a more aggressive body kit, bigger wheels, high-performance tires, larger brakes and a sporty interior with new bucket seat and a new steering wheel.

Reports indicate that Mazda may offer an all-wheel-drive system for the Mazdaspeed3 to take on other Japanese sports cars such as the Subaru WRX Type S or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

The all-new Mazda 3 is truly a temptation, with a spirit-stirring appearance that appeals to more than just the emotion. Once the tempting succeeds, it leads to a new long-lasting relationship.

This temptation is the handiwork of the design theme called "KODO - Soul of Motion," which takes inspiration from the beauty and power of nature. Mazda developed KODO to further evolve its distinctive sense of vitality and agility.

New Mazda 3 is undeniably a Mazda, even while being a renaissance of sorts. The new Mazda is simply an evolution of KODO as translated into powerful C-segment proportions while expressing dynamic motion. Just like KODO models before it, the all-new Mazda 3 sports a confident stance boosted by its compact, rear-leaning cabin. Its low-and-wide dimensions are complemented by a raked profile that rises towards the rear as well as by flared fenders and large aluminum wheels.

Mazda 3 delivers a first impression that makes onlookers jumpstart their imagination to open up new possibilities. The new Mazda 3 fuses this energetic tension with a unique sensation of rhythm. Its glossy surfaces reflect emotion as they are struck by lighting, thereby capturing the senses while lifting the mood.
