Article by Christian A., on November 6, 2014

McLaren has just announced that its entry-level model, codenamed P13, will be unveiled in the second quarter of 2015 and will be known as the McLaren Sports Series. As expected, the new vehicle will be slotted below the 650S, will be a rival for the well-known Porsche 911 and promises to bring the McLaren credentials and exclusivity to the sportscar segment for the first time.

The new McLaren Sports Series will be a pure McLaren, will feature a carbon fiber chassis as well as a mid-mounted V8 engine. We expect to see the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 used by all McLaren models, delivering around 440 hp.

Pricing will start at around 120,000 GBP or almost $200,000.

The company also prepares an interesting launch campaign which will plot the history over 13 chapters of BlackSwan moments from around the world and within Mclaren’s. As a result, McLaren will use the #BlackSwanMoments hashtag in order to tell stories that changed and challenged people’s beliefs.
