McLaren launches new set of accessories inspired by the MP4-12C

At the McLaren eStore, there is an exciting new set of accessories based on its MP4-12C supercar. These include a watch, bracelet, luggage set and McLaren diamond ring. The McLaren luggage set is priced at US$6,400, while the diamond ring sells for $4,700. The store also offers a Tag Heuer Carrera MP4-12C watch that has carbon fiber on the dial and visible sapphire crystal inserts.

It has a limited production of just 1,000 units. McLaren said that these products are targeted for those who are "focused on enjoying the thrill of the open road." Links of London also offers the carbon-fiber and mesh McLarenSport mechanical bracelet.

It gets features that take inspiration from the components of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 cars. Their woven mesh design is similar to the piping used on the vehicles. Then there’s a fitted luggage set built from carbon fiber, available in three sizes. The luggage is designed to be like the engine cover of the MP4-12C and have been lined with the same "space fabric" used on the supercar's seats.

Some customers may feel that the McLaren MP4-12C still has room for improvements, and are praying for some enhancements in its latest iteration. It looks like McLaren Automotive has heard their prayers, as it is launching a package of enhancements that should make the McLaren MP4-12C more dynamic, enjoyable to drive and easier to use.

The latest iteration of the McLaren MP4-12C still looks like the previous model, except for the minor tweak on the McLaren Speed Marque badge. Beyond that is an array of improvement including a 25PS (25 hp) surge in power output, which means that its twin turbocharged V8 engine is now able to efficiently deliver 625 PS (616 hp) of max output. Aside from possessing more power, the new McLaren MP4-12C is now more responsive, thanks to several tweaks made on the supercar’s engine and SSG transmission.

Typically, supercars aren’t the kinds that are easy to use. But that isn’t the case with the new MP4-12C, since an array of detail tweaks have made it easy to use. Moreover, the new MP4-12C could be personalized with a wide selection of exterior finishes, leathers and wheels.

Interestingly, the driver could now control – in three levels – the amount of engine intake sound heard inside the cabin of the new MP4-12C – thanks to the Intake Sound Generator (ISG) system. ISG allows the amount of engine noise to be programmed in three levels in all three Powertrain modes.

With all these upgrades – higher engine output, better engine and transmission response, more personalization options and the new ISG system – the newest MP4-12C furthers its reputation as a benchmark in the areas of power, efficiency and technology. Interestingly, all these upgrades are available at no extra cost – allowing MP4-12C to drive their rides without much worry. The upgrades are all available for the new MP4-12C starting October 2012.
