Mercedes-Benz is making its way into the small van market by launching the new Citan compact van. The Citan boasts a number of features and is powered by a diesel engine in three power outputs. The compact van, which is also available in three wheelbase choices, could be availed by interested drivers for as low as £6.95 per day through the carmaker’s competitive finance packages.

The Citan could carry loads of up to 735 kg and a volume of up to 3.8 m3, thereby setting new benchmarks in efficiency in its class while donning the high standards of quality and customer care expected of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Interested buyers could start ordering their Citans now, for as low as £13,095 for the 108 CDI Compact.

As mentioned, the Citan is also available through finance packages. Through the Mercedes-Benz Agility Contract Purchase package, the 109 CDI Compact Trade Edition can be bought with a one-off payment deposit of £585 and 35 monthly payments of £195 – which is equivalent to just £6.95 per day or £48.75 per week.

The 109 CDI Compact “Trade Edition” could also be availed in cold cash for just £13,645. Contract Hire customers could also avail of the 109 CDI Compact “Trade Edition” by making one-off deposit of £630, 35 monthly payments of £210.According to Steve Bridge, Van Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz UK, the new Citan is creating a stir within the van industry, since the level of interest was and has been relentless for the van since the carmaker released its first sketches.

Mercedes-Benz Citan is immediately recognizable as a Benz vehicle because of its characteristic brand look. Its chromed star, which provides the brand signature, is set against its prominent and robust radiator grille that comes with sporty perforated louvres. Moreover, the Citan's bold headlamps, as well as its emphasized V-shape to the bonnet, are impressively striking.

Additionally, the air intake’s trapezoidal shape emphasizes the car’s width as well as the powerful impression it makes. This feature is another one of Mercedes-Benz’s typical current style elements.

Also emphasizing width, the rear window’s angular lower edge mirrors the vertically mounted tail lights’ line. This particular detail on the new Citan reflects the expertise of Benz designers. Meanwhile, on variants that feature rear-end doors, their number plate is fixed on the left-hand side of the doors that is wider. As for the Citan models with a tailgate, their number plate is positioned on the center.

The new Mercedes-Benz Citan is an irresistible urban delivery van that sports a unique appearance and that smoothly fits into the portfolio alongside the Benz Sprinter and Vitovans.

Furthermore, the Citan’s distinctive interior is equipped with high-standard features. The driver and the front passenger both benefit from comfortable and firm padded seats. Meanwhile, the form-fitting backrests provide lateral support, ensuring not just comfort but also safety. And drawing on the typical design idiom of the brand, the seat cover is durable, easy to care, and made from skin-friendly and breathable fabric.
