Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart unveiled

Mercedes-Benz and Spencer Hart have announced a new collaboration at London Collections: Men -- the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart. The two brands worked together to combine design philosophies from the worlds of auto engineering and fashion – as both exude elegance and style in their products. The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart was unveiled as the finale to the Spencer Hart London Collections: Men show.

The vehicle boasts of styling by Spencer Hart’s Creative Director Nick Hart and of the workings of AMG’s Performance Studio. The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart features Spencer Hart’s signature color -- ‘Nick Hart Midnight Blue.’ Instead of the conventional Mercedes-Benz chrome accents and wheels, Nick Hart opted to endow the vehicle with subtle, dark and understated finishes for interior trim details and external highlights.

The interior of the model is inspired by Spencer Hart’s flagship store in Brook Street, particularly the exclusive walnut-paneled personal shopping area known as ‘The Vault.’ The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart features dark Chocolate Brown Italian leather seats with contrasting Midnight Blue stitching. The Spencer Hart logo, inspired by the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs, is embroidered into each headrest.

The cabin’s styling is further enhanced by Nick Hart’s signature, thereby creating a subtle feature on the center console. The completed vehicle was unveiled at London Collections: Men at The Old Sorting Office on June 16, 2013, following Spencer Hart’s SS14 collection showcase. The collection complements the sleek design of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake by Spencer Hart.

Nick Hart, Creative Director of Spencer Hart said: “It seemed a natural fit to work on a car project with Mercedes-Benz. I have always been a fan of the brand and creating something that was uniquely Spencer Hart and ultimately cool as opposed to commercial, has resulted in something that both Spencer Hart and Mercedes-Benz are proud of.”

The amazingly sophisticated design language of extraordinary automobile styling is integrated in the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake with a distinctively athletic feeling of power. Its raised levels of operations are apparently noticeable in elements like the powerful AMG front end with a highly glossed black finished cross strut, the AMG radiator grille with single slat, and the uniquely AMG bonnet design.

Other vibrant features found include the wider front wings with "V8 BITURBO" embossed, the signature AMG rear end with diffuser appearance and the AMG sports exhaust system with two dual chrome tailpipes. High-performing LED headlights including the Intelligent Light System and adaptive High-beam Assist also come as standard features.

Extensive appointments, exclusive atmosphere

From the superior components and artistry all the way to the elite environment, the inside of the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake matches the very peak of benchmark expectations. AMG sports seats in nappa leather with multiple contour seating and memory functions, AMG lacquered piano black trim, and the singular AMG analogue clock featuring an IWC design all add in creating a distinctive atmosphere. The driver will also be fully and accurately updated through the AMG instrument cluster that features the main AMG menu that includes the RACETIMER and AMG start-up display.

The modes of transmission, suspension setup, ESP settings, and the AMG programmes can all be set up through the AMG DRIVE UNIT with the E-SELECT lever - a unique feature just found in AMG vehicles – that is incorporated into the central console and turned facing to the driver. Striking visually, ergonomic, and comfortingly palpable: the nappa leather AMG Performance steering wheel has a three-spoked design with flat top and bottom portions, a unique form, finished in perforated leather, and silver aluminium shift paddles. A newly launched highlight on all AMG automobiles is the chrome-finished electric key with AMG logo.
