Mercedes-Benz is now selling the Mercedes-Benz Tourismo RHD that comes with new in-house manufactured Travel Star Xtra (TSX) seats. The seats, which are designed to be both practical and attractive, are offered in both Luxline and Softline upholstery versions. They were first introduced in the Mercedes-Benz Travego at the IAA 2010.
For example, aluminum is used for the side trim, providing an overall high-quality, stylish and lightweight finish. Aisle seat lateral adjustment and backrest angle adjustment is intuitive and effortless, thanks to a clearly marked and large rocker-type switch.
The elegantly designed armrest on the new seats has a generous and ergonomically contoured surface. The pivoting mechanism used for folding away the arm rest is a patented design and the seat backrests and cushions have been re-contoured.
The groundbreaking seat cushion rests on a sprung system and can be removed easily for cleaning or repairs.
The optional contrasting top-stitching for the new upholstery allows for various combinations of shape, color and material, resulting in an even more high-quality appearance and the possibility of more individualized appointments.
The modular system means that the choices are unlimited. The developers have designed both folding cinema-style seats and swivel seats for vehicles used in excursion travel and regular-service operations.
