The MINI ALL4 Racing will be making its way to the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed just after securing a win in the prestigious 15-day Dakar Rally. Nani Roma and the MINI ALL4 Racing will be challenging the 1.16 mile world-famous hill-climb. The 300hp racer will also be presented on MINI’s stand, alongside the car on which it was derived -- the revised MINI Countryman.
The MINI Countryman is the first MINI that comes with the intelligent ALL4 all-wheel-drive system and features improved fuel efficient as well as new styling cues. The MINI Countryman – which is available in new colors like Jungle Green – boasts of a newfound power (190hp) in the guise of the Cooper S.
MINI’s stand on the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed will also feature the MINI John Cooper Works Hatch Concept, which was first unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. The concept provides a glimpse of the next generation of John Cooper Works models.
Thanks to MINI extensive race-track expertise, the MINI John Cooper Works Hatch Concept boasts of large air inlets in the front apron, a rear spoiler and uniquely styled side sills and rear apron. Completing the sporty features are sports brakes and a sports exhaust system.
The concept will be joined by current John Cooper Works models like the MINI JCW Roadster, MINI JCW Coupé and new MINI JCW Paceman (in limited edition Frozen Black). MINI’s stand at the festival will also be graced by the all-new MINI Hatch, which was just launched in March 2014.
As of June 2014, MINI UK boasts of having the strongest forward order bank for the Hatch since it was re-launched in 2001. Visitors at MINI’s stand could try any of the three full-size MINI Hatch simulators, each of which replicates MINI’s famous ‘go-kart’ handling.
They could also take part in a virtual race up the Goodwood Hillclimb in the simulator. [source: MINI]
