MINI goes camping on April Fools’ Day

Article by Christian A., on April 2, 2012

Who says campers can’t be stylish? MINI has announced the arrival of a generously appointed caravan with the classic John Cooper Works color scheme. It has two sleeping bays and a roof-top tent that fits two. MINI introduces the caravan just a few days before spring starts, guaranteeing that it gets the attention of camping outfitters.

The British premium car maker wants to boost its status as a universal supplier of stylish mobility solutions. In early March 2012, MINI unveiled the MINI Clubvan Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. This is the first MINI intended for daily business use. If you like travelling the world but you don’t want to let go of your sense of style, MINI knows that you would want its “Cowley” caravan.

It provides all the stuff you need to pitch camp comfortably. It comes with two welcoming sleeping berths, a twin-burner gas-stove, a water tank with pump and dish-washing facility, a solar module to charge the on-board battery and a 230-volt power connection to supply the refrigerator, TV/DVD and hi-fi stereo system.

If a trailing coupling isn’t possible, the “Swindon” roof-top tent is a good option. It’s easy to fit the tent into the roof of a MINI, MINI Clubman or MINI Countryman.

It offers sleeping space for two people so it eliminates the hassle of having to make last-minute searches for accommodation. Finding a place to sleep when you’re traveling in the middle of nowhere can be as simple as getting to the roof of the MINI and raising the upper half of the roof-top tent box and getting in. P.S. Don't forget, this is jut an April Fool's Day prank!
