Although we are eager to see the next-generation, Mitsubishi decided to make some upgrades to the existing Lancer Evolution and prepare it for the 2015MY. As a result, the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution comes with new heated side mirrors with turn indicators and drop cup holder with lid.
In addition, the 2015 Lancer Evolution GSR comes with new Premium Package includes Sight and Sound Package plus leather seating, power glass sunroof, heated front seats, sound dampening enhancement and piano black front console box with lids.
The 2015 Lancer Evolution MR model comes with a 9-speaker 710-watt Rockford Fosgate premium sound system, Fast-key entry system, auto dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing wipers, auto on-off headlights, color-keyed heat extractor vents, a bright front grille and beltline molding, sound dampening enhancement and piano-black front console box with lids.
As standard, the 2015 Lancer Evolution arrives with Fuse Hands-Free Link System that allows the users to wirelessly connect to Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, iPod or USB drive. Moreover the Lancer Evolution comes with a sport steering wheel wrapped in leather with cruise and audio controls, a new rear air diffuser, pronounced rear deck lid spoiler (offered as standard on the GSR model) or a lower-profile rear lip spoiler (offered as standard on MR model).
For those who don’t know, the Lancer Evolution features the Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) and offers three traction mode settings: Tarmac, Gravel and Snow. Braking system is developed by Brembo and features ton calipers with 13.8-inch diameter rotors (front) and 2-piston calipers with 13.0-inch diameter rotors (rear), 4-channel Sport ABS and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).
The 2015 Lancer Evolution MR model offers new lightweight two-piece Brembo brake rotors on the front wheels, Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs at all four corners. Under the hood, we find the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine that generates 291 hp at 6,500 rpm and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) of torque starting at the 4,000 rpm level.
The engine is bolted to a short-throw 5-speed manual transmission on the GSR trim level, while the MR model gets the 6-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (TC-SST). With the 5-speed transmission, EPA fuel economy rating is 17 mpg city / 23 mpg highway, while with the dual-clutch TC-SST transmission the vehicle achieves 17 mpg city / 22 mpg highway.
