Only a few carmakers can boast of being in existence for more than century. One of these is Morgan Motor Company, a family-owned British carmaker that founded by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan. Based in Malvern, Worcestershire, Morgan will be celebrating its 110th year anniversary next year (2019) and it will do so with a loud band – by releasing a new range of ‘110 Anniversary’ models.
Currently, Morgan has four vehicles on its range -- the 1.6-liter 4/4, 2.0-liter Plus 4, the 3.7-liter V6-powered Roadster and the 3 Wheeler. It used to be five, but Morgan discontinued V8-engined Plus Eight earlier this year.
The range will include four ‘110 Anniversary’ models, each featuring distinct celebratory badging to indicate its importance as a 110 edition vehicle. According to Morgan, each 110 edition model will feature a specially selected performance as well as styling options that come at no extra charge.
These four ‘110 Anniversary’ models can be finished in new ranges of standard colors. In their standard guises, the 4/4, Plus 4, Roadster and 3 Wheeler are available with any colors of the ‘Sport Range.’ For the 110 edition models, Morgan added two ranges of carefully selected colors -- ‘Classic Range’ and ‘Metallic Range.’ The colors included ranges reflect some of the most popular colors donned by the carmaker’s vehicles in its history. The new colors also reflect some of the personal favorite colors of the members of Morgan’s design team.
Each ‘110 Anniversary’ model can also be enhanced in terms of performance and appearance – at no extra cost. For instance, the Plus 4 and Roadster can be fitted with a rear exit sports exhaust, a front valance as well as a leather bonnet strap. The Plus 4 and Roadster can also be enhanced inside, thanks to options like performance seats, a leather or wood rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, a mohair hood pack as well as a choice of Yarwood leather. The ‘110 Anniversary’ logo can be embroidered on the headrest with matching or contrasting stitch-work.
On the other hand, the 3 Wheeler an array of exterior and interior options especially created for ‘110 Anniversary’ models – also at no extra cost. Aside from black roll hoops and black exhaust heat shields, the 3 Wheeler can be finished with any solid color from the new color ranges, and can be fitted with a body colored engine cowl. Inside it can come with center split seats, storage pockets and quilted leather stitching, as well as and a mohair tonneau cover.
Steve Morris, Managing Director of Morgan Motor, remarked that the new ‘110 Edition’ vehicles only mark the beginning of the carmaker’s celebrations, with further announcements to be made throughout 2019.
