This is the new set of teaser images of Chrysler’s highly anticipated 200 sedan. In the middle of September, there was a preview of the 2011 Chrysler 200 but these new photos show a better look at the car's front end as well as show the contrasting stitching of the leather interior.
Upgrades to the exterior and its sheet metal include front and rear fascias and fenders, grille that displays the new Chrysler brand winged badge, hood, rear decklid and exterior mirrors, new projector headlamps and fog lamps, new LED tail lamps and a LED center high-mounted stop light.
The new sedan is equipped with a 2.4-liter in-line 4-cylinder World Gas Engine partnered to a 4 or 6-speed automatic transmission.
It will also be offered with Chrysler’s new Pentastar V6 engine that delivers 283hp and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm of torque), which will be mated with a 6-speed automatic as standard. The interior received updates such as a new instrument panel, bezels and gauge face.
The upcoming sedan also got upgraded seats with a new design that features more cushion material and revised spring geometry as well as new leather and cloth seating materials.
In addition, the sedan features new “soft touch” door trim panels, new “soft touch” armrests and dash and new heating and cooling outlets in the instrument panel with improved design and functionality.
The new Chrysler 200 is laden with a number of innovative features that allow customers to keep connected. Aside from new ambient interior lighting, the new 200 comes with a new Chrysler brand steering wheel with integrated controls, which means the driver could still keep his or her hands on the steering wheel while operating the radio, hands-free phone, cruise control and other vehicle functions. The new 200 could be specified with an easy-to-use media center with voice command that offers certain connectivity functions. This media center offers radio, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, iPod connectivity, streaming music capability and a 30-GB hard drive. Also included is a navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link.
Chrysler has provided the new 200 with a wide array of standard safety and security features. These include standard advanced multi-stage front passenger air bags, front seat side air bags, side curtain air bags, active head restraints and electronic stability control (ESC). Also included as standard are features like electronic traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) child seat anchor system. Uconnect voice command system is available.
In the United States, the 2011 Chrysler 200 sedan is available in four different configurations: 200 LX, 200 Touring, 200 Limited and 200 S (late availability). Each model is loaded with not just style and innovative features, but also delivers a dynamic driving experience and great surprising value.
The standard mid-size sedan segment is considered as the largest vehicle segment in the US, with over 1.6 million units sold in 2009. Chrysler is positioning the new 200 as an exciting alternative for customers seeking style and substance at a surprising value.
Customers could choose from a broad palette of exterior colors for their new 2011 Chrysler 200 sedan: Black, Blackberry Pearl Coat, Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White Pearl Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Coat, Stone White Clear Coat and White Gold Clear Coat. Sapphire Crystal Metallic Clear Coat will be available later.
