Nissan has finally unveiled the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, a vehicle that shows us how the high-performance models from the Japanese carmaker could look like in the future. Nissan says that this new model was created in collaboration with the people who made Gran Turismo, the well-known driving simulator on the PlayStation.

The Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo was penned by a team of young designers at Nissan Design Europe, in London and gives hints as how a supercar of the future might look.

The Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo will be available to download in Gran Turismo 6 in July. Some reports said that the new concept from Nissan is also shows how the future GT-R will look like. There is nothing official yet, but if the next-generation GT-R will look like this, it will be even more popular than the current version.

This is the latest concept to debut the Gran Turismo 6, after seeing the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo, the Toyota FT-1 Concept or the Golf GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is essentially the premium brand’s visionary concept for a super sports car. Mercedes-Benz designers especially developed the AMG Vision Gran Turismo for the new PlayStation 3 Gran Turismo 6 racing game. The AMG Vision Gran Turismo is defined by its extreme proportions, expressive contours and precise graphics – all of which convey the performance level of the vehicle, as made possible by its engine that delivers 430 kW (585 hp) of max output and 800 Nm of peak torque.

Now, the new Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo is making its global debut at the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California, not as a virtual vehicle but as a 1:1-scale model. AMG Vision Gran Turismo super sports car will be making its debut as a downloadable model on the virtual racetrack when Gran Turismo 6 goes on sale in December 2013. Mercedes’ virtual creation will have the privilege as the first "Vision Gran Turismo" model.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Gran Turismo racing game series this year, Kazunori Yamauchi, Producer of the Gran Turismo series and President of Polyphony Digital Inc., reached out to the world’s leading carmakers and design studios to look forward into the future.

The guiding theme for these creative teams was "Vision Gran Turismo," which entails development of concept models offering distinct insight into the future of the automobile. The resulting visionary concepts – all of which are virtual vehicles that function like a real car -- will be gradually released in and integrated into the new Gran Turismo 6 via online updates.

As for the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, it was the result of collaboration between designers at the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Sindelfingen and Carlsbad (exterior design) as well as in Como, Italy (interior design).

Developed in a short time, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo was created by employing the regular design process for new series production vehicles and show cars. While it is usually nearly impossible to develop a vehicle in such a short time, the passion of Mercedes designers for super sports cars has made it possible. Designers gave the AMG Vision Gran Turismo an appearance that combines modern styling with classic design elements from motorsports.
