Nissan has disclosed the pricing and specifications for its new Nissan Qashqai crossover. The new Qashqai crossover is expected to build on the success of its predecessor, of which around 2 million units have been sold. Despite boasting a higher level of technology, comfort and practicality, the Nissan Qashqai comes with a level of affordability that would attract those considering conventional hatchback or crossover.
The Nissan Qashqai has a starting price of £17,595, and offers premium quality as well as some advanced features on the market – a testament to the carmaker’s philosophy of bringing premium features to the family car market.
The new Nissan Qashqai will hit the market in January 2014 and could be availed with four familiar grades: Visia, Acenta, Acenta Premium and Tekna.
The Visia models carry a starting price of £17,595 and are offered with new features like automatic air conditioning, Hill Start Assist, a five-inch color HD infotainment screen, Chassis Control, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Speed Limiter/Cruise control.
Acenta models, meanwhile, carry a starting price of £19,145 and come with the features offered on the Visia with the addition of dual-zone automatic air conditioning, premium leather steering wheel and gear knob, a set of 17-inch alloy wheels and a Luggage Board System. It features safety equipment that includes front fog lamps, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
Both the Visia and Acenta models could be availed with the optional Smart Vision Pack at an additional £450, which adds the carmaker’s advanced Safety Shield system among other driver aids.
The pack includes Front Collision Avoidance, Driver Attention Support and Traffic Sign Recognition. The Acenta Premium models have a starting price of £20,995 and feature a number of comfort and safety technologies like the new-generation NissanConnect infotainment system with DAB radio.
It also features a rear view camera, an i-key Start Push Button, parking sensors and a panoramic glass roof. Its safety features include Front Collision Avoidance, High Beam Assist and Lane Departure Warning. Tekna models carry a base price of £23,145 and feature a collection of new technologies. Safety features include Bi-LED headlamps, Safety Shield with Traffic Signal Recognition and High Beam Assist.
Nissan is taking the crossover segment to a new level with its second-generation Nissan Qashqai. The carmaker, which was the one that originally defined the crossover template in 2007, introduces the new Qashqai with a bolder design, more highly advanced engineering, better attention to detail, and more intelligent technology.
New Qashqai is more than just a modified version of the first-generation Qashqai model. It is 49mm longer, 20mm wider, and 15mm lower than its predecessor. However, despite its lower height and with the same raised driving position, its headroom is higher by 10mm.
Moreover, the new Qashqai boasts a stunning new look with clean lines, powerful curves, and intricate details, including its optional 19” alloy wheels. With bold new elements like its muscular wheelarches and raised bonnet line, the new Qashqai expresses a sense of dynamic strength.
Furthermore, the front end of the new Qashqai incorporates some of the crossover sector’s most advanced technology. All models have LED daytime running lights, while certain versions feature even more sophisticated technology, plus full LED power for dip and main beam. And in keeping with the carmaker’s passion for delivering technology that is highly usable, the new vehicle uses LED instead of Xenon lights.
Its LED headlamps create a whiter and crisper light, not just using 50% less power compared to Xenon bulbs, but also emitting light that is closer to sunlight in color, resulting to better visibility in the dark. What’s more, the lights display the brand’s unique LED lighting signature, which dramatically sweeps up from the car’s center section.
