Nissan has rolled out its "No Charge to Charge" promotion that provides two years of free public charging for those who are purchasing or leasing a new Leaf from its dealers in Chicago. The promotion includes complimentary access to fast chargers that allow an 80-percent charge in just 30 minutes.

"No Charge to Charge" was launched at Nissan Leaf dealers in Chicago on Nov. 14 and those who purchased or leased their vehicle on or after Nov. 1, in the said market will be eligible for the "No Charge to Charge" program retroactively.

Brendan Jones, director for Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure Strategy, remarked that the Leaf is an “attractive option” for Chicago car buyers thanks to the Illinois Alternative Fuels Rebate of up to $4,000; significantly lower operating costs; and free public fast charging in the city.

The "No Charge to Charge" promotion means that new Leaf buyers enjoy free access to fast chargers spread throughout Chicago at retail stores, tollway oases and other convenient locations for drivers. The promotion also gives Leaf drivers a free one-hour charging sessions at over 140 level 2 charging stations.

"No Charge to Charge" service is now being offered to Nissan Leaf’s top 12 markets like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and Washington, D.C. Nissan is planning to offer the "No Charge to Charge" program at Leaf dealers in at least 13 more markets in the US next year. [source: Nissan]
