Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

In order that the introduction of the Ferrari California will coincide with it, Officine Panerai has presented a new two-counter watch in its "Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai" timepiece assortment.

The container of this restricted version Panerai timepiece measures 45mm in diameter, and shows a cushion shaped outline; brushed surfaces are principal with refined elements on the lugs and case corners offering an attractive and stylish contrast. Both pushpieces and signed winding crown highlight a delicately machined knurled surface.

Reminiscent of the sensual, sporting structure of the Ferrari California, the black dial of this watch displays highlights in emblematic "Ferrari Red", together with a dial area in the middle of 12 and 3 o'clock whose semi-circular sweep reminds one of the tachometer instrumentation of a Ferrari sports vehicle.

The Ferrari "California" brand emblem on the dial assuages any doubt as to the authorized linkage between these two in demand luxury objects. The Panerai for Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph is made alive by a self-winding mechanical action. A consistent frequency of 28,800 beats per hour guarantees timing accuracy to the nearest 1/8th of a second.

The caliber also holds a flyback complication, which takes away the necessity to stop the running chronograph between timing orders. Ornamental elements of the action comprise an engraved rotor that proudly showcases the well-known "Cavallino Rampante" Ferrari company insignia.

Only a limited 400 models of the Panerai for Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph will be produced. The chronographs are equipped with a sapphire convex crystal, and a densely padded band in alligator skin highlighted with white stitching contrasts. For this model, a 100 meter water resistance capability is ensured
