When 2008 was about to close, Panerai, the famous Italian watchmaker, made available a special "Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph" to celebrate the launch of the latest Ferrari California convertible.
Currently, Panerai has expanded its exclusive Ferrari Scuderia collection to include new models in the form of the Ferrari Chronograph Red Dial and the Ferrari Chronograph Yellow Dial.
These timepieces come with polished steel case and brushed steel edges and both are equipped with two screw-down push pieces and a crown with rims in a grid-like pattern (intended to point to the dashboard controls of the Ferraris).
Other connection with the cars consists of a Prancing Horse engraved on the back of the casing and a tachometer scale for estimating speeds, the winding crown and also the dial. In keeping with the leather swathed interior of the Ferrari cars, the watch comes with a leather strap of black calfskin and red alligator skin for the layer inside.
Both chronometers are technically similar except for the "Modena" yellow replacing the signature Maranello House of Red in the many colored highlights of the dial and the strap.
The timepieces in the Scuderia collection differ in both concept and appearance from those belonging to the famous Granturismo line. However, the same conscientious expertise is applied to the timepieces as Ferrari does to its production cars. The beautiful timepieces come between $8,000-$10,000 price tags.
