Peugeot is expanding its 208 range this month by introducing a Special Edition, the Peugeot 208 Intuitive this month. Having a starting price of £14,245, the Peugeot 208 Intuitive could be availed in 3- and 5-door variants, with power options of petrol and HDi diesel engines. The Peugeot 208 Intuitive features more equipment than usual as well as new technologies like the Park Assist.
The Peugeot 208 Intuitive will be the first vehicle to showcase the automatic parallel parking feature. The Park Assist system provides active assistance with parking as it detects a parking space and controls the steering to park in the intended space.
The system controls the steering while the driver manages the accelerator, brakes, gears and clutch. During the process, Park Assist gives visual and audible information to the driver to make the maneuver safe. Although all Intuitive models are based on the current 208 Allure variant, they feature extra standard equipment like the Park Assist system, 16” alloy wheels, Satellite Navigation, Cielo Roof with ambient lighting.
The models also feature directional front fog lights and Automatic Dual Zone Air conditioning as well as LED surround on the instrument dials. All Intuitive models also feature ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), power steering, six airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks and three rear three-point seat belts. The Intuitive models also feature 2/3–1/3 split folding rear seats, steering column adjustable for reach and rake, radio/single CD player, trip computer, Cruise Control with speed limiter, electrically operated/heated door mirrors and air-conditioning.
What makes all versions of the Peugeot 208 Intuitive more appealing to purchase is Peugeot’s unique ‘Just Add Fuel.’ package. The ‘Just Add Fuel’ package provides drivers with a cost effective way to acquire their new Peugeots. Through a three-year finance package with a fixed-price single monthly payment, almost every major motoring costs are covered -- comprehensive motor insurance, road fund license, vehicle servicing, roadside assistance and warranty.
There are a number of words that can describe the A9 project and these include, to mention a few, agile, athletic, concentrated energy, generation jump, intuitive, and sensuous. The good news is that the stylist managed to give all of these words meaning. They even managed to make it coherent and illustrated them using the volumes that served as inspiration.
Indeed, it has fluid lines between the windscreen pillar and the bonnet, the overhangs have been reduced, and even the profile has been made to be more compact. Without a doubt, the design language of the brand has been truly redesigned not only in the main features but in each of the details. The front face for example is now more attractive. Peugeot has long been known for its front face and this has truly been made more charismatic. The feline expression is more refined, rich, and modern. Both the light guide and LEDs will help highlight the headlamp unit’s expression, be it day or night.
The brand made sure to give the same attention to each element like what was done to the foglamp surrounds. Still on the front, the grille has been modeled in such a way that it looks like a true floating sculpture. Looking closer, one gets the impression that it is able to remove itself from the whole bodywork and then float in the air. Helping with this illusion is the chrome surround of the vehicle’s precisely formed sections.
Inside this, there is a full and technological mesh, or even chrome bars. This puts focus on the richness of the line and how modern it is. Due to the use of this original design, the vehicle is able to showcase the principle of environmental efficiency. That is, that the air intake’s size has been optimized hints at the possibility that the fuel consumption has been optimized as well.
