Porsche Cayenne receives the Platinum Edition

Article by Christian A., on December 1, 2013

Porsche Cayenne six-cylinder model has just received a special Platinum Edition. Both the Platinum Edition Cayenne and Cayenne Diesel are offered in a Platinum Silver Metallic finish. As expected, the Platinum Edition offers more features and the Cayenne is offered with the eight-gear Tiptronic S, Bi-Xenon main headlights and Power Steering Plus, as well as the ParkAssist system at the front and rear as standard.

The standard colour range includes monotone paint finishes in Black and White, and Meteor Grey Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic and Mahogany Metallic are available as further colour options. If you want more, the Carrara White Metallic paint finish is also an option available exclusively for this Cayenne edition.

The exterior design is completed by the 19-inch Cayenne Design II wheels with coloured crest. Inside, Porsche offers the exclusive Black/Luxor Beige two-tone combination. The floor mats feature the Porsche Logo and Luxor Beige edging, while the front door entry guards feature the Platinum Edition logo.

Moreover, the interior comes with the standard SportDesign steering wheel with shift paddles and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which includes a high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen and a sound system with 11 loudspeakers and total power of 235 watt.

Cayenne Platinum Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine delivering 300 hp (220 kW), which is bolted to the Tiptronic S transmission. Fuel consumption is 9.9 liters/100 km (236 g/km CO2).

The Cayenne Diesel Platinum Editionis powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine rated at 245 hp (180 kW) and has a fuel consumption of 7.2 litres of diesel per 100 km. The Cayenne Platinum Edition is priced at €66,379, while the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition costs €67,212, including VAT.

More than ever, the newest iteration of the Cayenne cannot be denied as Porsche, thanks to its elegant blend of dynamic, efficiency, interior roominess and overall lightness as well as its sporty design.

In terms of modern efficiency, the new generation Cayenne is setting the standard, as led by the Porsche’s first production car with a hybrid drive – the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid. In fact, the next generation of the Cayenne is up to 23 percent more fuel efficient than their respective predecessors. Of course, Porsche developed the next generation of the Cayenne according to its principle of Porsche Intelligent Performance that seek to gain more power on less fuel, greater efficiency and lower carbon dioxide emissions.

In fact, three of five Cayenne models consume less than ten liters of fuel per 100 kilometers travelled, as per the New European Driving Cycle. In addition, two Cayenne models emit less than the emission limit of 200 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer – with the Cayenne Diesel at 195 g/km and the Cayenne S Hybrid at 193 g/km.

Porsche was able to significantly cut the fuel consumption of all Porsche Cayenne models thanks to a number of solutions. For instance, the new Porsche Cayenne now makes use of the new eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission with Auto Start Stop and wider range of gear increments. Moreover, the new Cayenne features thermal management on the engine and transmission cooling circuit as well as variable overrun cut-off and recuperation of the on-board network. The new Porsche Cayenne also consumes less fuel thanks to its intelligent lightweight construction and consistent reduction of weight.
