Radical Sportscars reveals SR3 SL roadster ahead of 2011 Autosport Show

Article by Christian A., on December 20, 2010

Radical Sportscars said that the SR3 SL, a new track-day and road-focused roadster, leads Radical's 2011 product lineup. The SR3 SL will be formally launched at the Autosport International Show on January 13, 2011 at the NEC, Birmingham. The SR3 SL, optimized for the growing track-day and corporate/race school market, is Radical's most advanced sports car ever.

The SR3 SL is driven by a 2,000cc Ford-RPE (Radical Performance Engines) EcoBoost engine developing 300bhp as standard.

While Euro5 emissions compliant, the SR3 SL with Twin-Independent Variable Cam Timing and state-of-the-art, high-pressure Direct Injection, transmits its power to the road via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

The SR3 SL, with European Small Series Type Approval, can be road registered in any EU country. At 675kg and full underbody aerodynamics, there are very few vehicles that are comparable to the Radical when it comes to performance.

For those who want to take the SR3 SL experience further, Radical will offer a Race Pack, which features options that include an engine calibration map selection, FIA-approved fuel cell, racing bi-plane rear wing and racing tire options.

Available on the road with a Formula One-style paddleshift gearchange with fly-by-wire throttle, auto-blipper and advanced engine management system, the SR3 SL is the closest experience to a Le Mans car for the road.
