Renault launches inter-country battle for new Captur on its Facebook page

Renault fans throughout the world can vote for their favorite personalized Captur in their country’s colors during the Geneva Motor Show. There’s an application on Renault’s international Facebook page that allows fans to choose from a variety of personalized versions that use the colors of the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Britain, France, Germany, India, Italy, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.

Renault Design came up with these stunning personalizations. After all the votes are submitted, the winning personalized Captur will be built and will then be displayed at different events for 2013. Renault will announce the vote results on March 18 on Facebook.

According to Florence de Goldfiem, Vice-President, Corporate Communications for the Renault Group, the Inter-Country Battle is a recent addition to the exclusive content that’s available to fans of the international Renault Facebook page. So far, this page has about 400,000 fans.

This activity surrounding the new crossover is in line with the Captur’s launch as it places the focus on its distinct design and universal appeal. Those who voted for the Captur version they like will get the chance to be selected during a draw to win a VIP experience for two in a Captur at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, which Renault has been a partner of for three decades.

Renault’s newest urban crossover, the Captur, makes use of flowing lines, allowing it to put focus on the unique proportions. Conceived to have a good mix of the features present in a SUV, hatchback, and SUV, the brand made all this possible for the Captur. This was done by putting in wide tracks, substantial ground clearance, the steeply raked windscreen that has been positioned more forward, and the large wheels.

In addition, the brand also made sure that the Captur would be able to lend itself to the wide-ranging personalization program. Through the available colors for the wheel, upholstery fabrics, light and dark trims for the interior, graphic themes, and two-tone bodywork, customers are given access to various combinations. With this, Renault will be able to attract a wide range of desires and spectrum.

In coming up with this new model, the designers at Renault were given the creative freedom they needed. The result is a large space for the interior, as well as features, that customers can expect for a vehicle of this type. While the Captur is indeed slightly longer when compared to the New Clio, this gives it that needed room despite being compact.

The bench seat on the rear has a sliding feature resulting in that excellent balance when it comes to space for the passengers and that of their luggage. In fact for the luggage, the maximum carrying capacity is measured to be 455 cubic dm, which includes the baggage cover. Looking at the passenger compartment, there are two innovations that place emphasis on the user-friendliness of the vehicle. The first of this is drawer-type glove box that’s positioned to make sure that it can be reached easily by the driver.

Total storage is measured to be 11 liters. The second innovation is the set of seat covers and being removable, it can be simply unzipped, washed using a machine at home, and then refitted. Further, there is the in-dash multi-media Renault R-Link tablet which offers access to an entirely new level when it comes to connectivity. It even comes with the ever-expanding library that includes dedicated motoring applications.
